Opening Story:

In Queen's Tales: The Beast and the Nightingale, your father has been away on a long journey. Just before he's about to finally return home, he encounters what appears to be an abandoned castle with a beautiful magic nightingale locked away inside. Taking pity on the bird, he decides to take it with him, however, his efforts are halted by a fierce beast who accuses him of stealing the bird. The beast demands that your father either return to serve him or send his daughter in his place. If he does nothing, he will die by midnight! Determined to take your father's place, you travel to the enchanted forest that surrounds the castle, but your efforts are hindered every step of the way by a strange sorceress. Can you make it to the castle before midnight and save your father? Find out in this enchanting hidden object game!

General Tips for Queen's Tales: The Beast and the Nightingale

Difficulty -There are four difficulty levels to choose from: Casual, Advanced, Hard and Custom. In Casual Mode, there is a tutorial, sparkles will indicate active areas as well as hidden object zones, there are no cursor penalties, there are black bar tips, and the hint and skip buttons take 40 seconds to charge. In Advanced Mode, there is no tutorial, no sparkles on active areas or hidden object areas, there are black bar tips, there are cursor penalties, and the hint and skip buttons take 80 seconds to charge. In Hard Mode, there is no tutorial, no sparkles on active areas or hidden object zones, there are no black bar tips, there are cursor penalties, and the hint and skip buttons take 160 seconds to charge. In Custom Mode, you can change the settings to create a personal difficulty level.

Magnifying Glass - Your cursor will change to a magnifying glass when you can talk to a character or you can zoom in for a closer look.

Hand - When you can pick up an item and add it to your inventory, your cursor will change to a hand. This also indicates an area where you can interact with an object.

Gears - When your cursor turns to gears, it means you can use an item from your inventory.

Hint Button - If you're stuck and don't know what to do next, click on the hint button in the bottom right. Just remember, these take time to charge once you use them.

Menu - To access the menu, click on the menu bottom in the bottom left hand corner of your screen.

Inventory - Your inventory is located at the bottom of your screen. Hover your mouse over the area to display it. Click on the padlock on the right to lock it.

Hidden Object Game - In certain modes, sparkles will indicate a hidden object area. Items listed in green require an extra step to locate them. You can switch to mini-game mode if you prefer to do a puzzle by clicking on the button in the top left.

Birdhouse - There are birds to collect throughout the game. Once you find one, it will be displayed in your birdhouse.

Fairy Tales - The Fairy Tales indicate achievements you can ear by solving puzzles or playing hidden object areas.

Notes - Your notes are located in the bottom left hand corner of your screen and include all the key observations and story points you encounter as you play.

Mini-Games - Once you've found a mini-game, you'll have the option to play the hard version or the casual at the top. Click whichever one you prefer. If you don't feel like solving it or can't seem to figure the game out, you can always click the skip button.

Nightingale - The nightingale will perch on the bottom left hand corner of your screen. It can be used to make plants grow, blossom, or bear fruit.

Navigation Arrow - When you can move to another screen, your cursor will change to an arrow.

Map - Once you arrive at the forest, you'll find the map. It can be found in the bottom right hand corner of your screen and can be used to fast travel to different locations.
