General Information

GENERAL TIPS:

  • There are 5 Locations with 10 levels at each location. Each location has a VIP Lounge that needs to be renovated. The VIP Suites have 10 items that need to be purchased with star bills in order to complete the suite.
  • Replay a level at any time by selecting the pause button in the lower right of the screen; then select Return to Map and replay any completed level. The upgrades previously purchased will be available. Should you score higher when you replay a level, you will be able to purchase additional upgrades for that level.
  • Retry a level at any time during the course of a level by selecting the pause button in the lower right of the scene; then select retry. You'll initially be taken to the upgrades scene and can purchase the same or different upgrades.
  • After completing all levels at each location, you have the ability to play that location in endless mode with 3 different levels of difficulty.
  • There are 2 money goals for each level; expert and goal. The expert goal requires a higher dollar amount needed to be earned than the goal amount. You must earn the goal amount to pass the level in order to move to the next level.
  • Perform as many of the same actions consecutively as possible; these are called chains and earn an additional $20 for each action. Example of a chain: Deliver 6 suitcases consecutively without performing another action to receive an additional $120. Picking up laundry, stopping sleepwalkers and ghosts do not break chains. All other actions will break chains.  See section on chaining.
  • Holding guests with the curser keeps them from loosing hearts/patience.
  • There is not a cancel action/s option during the game, plan ahead and select Flo's actions creating as many chains as possible while fulfilling the customer's requests as efficiently as possible.
  • Placing items in the trash bin will subtract $20 for each item that is disposed.
  • Flo can carry 2 items at a time without a cart. Each cart upgrade allows Flo to carry one additional item.
  • Upgraded rooms with stars bring higher tips and star bills. Tips will allow a higher dollar amount earned on each level and Star Bills aid in the ability to purchase the items in the VIP Suites at each hotel location
  • Avoid having guests leave because they run out of patience as much as possible. $100 is deducted from your score when guests leave at any time during the level before they are checked out. You also lose any money you could have earned from their requested services along with the $100.
  • The laundry needs to be removed from each guest room before another guest can be assigned to that room. Laundry also needs to be removed before a guest will re-enter a room before checking out.
  • There are 13 different types of guests. Each type of guest will be dressed colored in green, yellow, blue or red. Match the same colored guest to the same colored room for a color match bonus of $100 each time a color match is made. Example: A blue room with a x4 will add an additional $400 to your score.
  • Read the introduction before each level; as it generally gives clues as to the type of guests that will arrive and/or special needs of the guests such as extra food service for the Hungry Men.
  • If there are some guests sleeping, wait to check out guests until all guests are awake to avoid breaking a check-out chain due to wake-up calls. Wake up calls will break the check-out chains. Wake guests up during the wake-up calls while the bar above the hotel door is blue to avoid the guests loosing hearts.
  • Place gift baskets at each room (when available) at the beginning of each level while the guests are arriving; as there is generally time to do so before the guests arrive and add $50 to each room. If there is time during the level, place gift baskets at each used room after the laundry is picked up; generally though, there isn't enough time to place many gift baskets at each room after the level is in progress.
  • Place the newspaper in the lounge at the beginning of the level in case some guests lose patience during the course of the level. The guests will go to the lounge and read the newspaper and gain more patience; however Flo cannot deliver anything to the guests' rooms while the guests are reading the paper.
  • Flo needs to stay with the musician at each hotel until he is completely charged and starts to play music in order for the guests to gain hearts. If Flo is assigned a task before the musician is completely charged, the musician will not charge and will therefore not play any music. The musician can be charged when he has a yellow highlight/glow around him.
  • Expert goal was relatively easily achieved by upgrading the cart; then purchasing stars for each room before purchasing other upgrades at each hotel.
  • Flo takes priority in using the elevators at each location. Sometimes it's best to wait to assign Flo tasks until guests have reached their rooms; even if the guest is already in the elevator, the elevator will move to Flo's location and assignment task first before delivering the guests to the correct floor.
  • Have the receptionist flip the circuit breaker as soon as possible after the mystery person in the green coat flips the breaker to avert an electrical disaster where the guests lose patience.

GAME PLAY AND GAME SCREEN:

hotel_dash_ss:hoteldashss_gameplay_01.jpg

  • Star Bills earned during current level.
  • Dollars/Points earned during current level.
  • Amount of dollars/points needed to reach goal and/or expert goal.
  • Time left on level.
  • Resume, Retry Level, Return to Map, Options, Main Menu, Help and Quit options.
  • All items for the VIP Suites should be purchased by the ninth level at each location in order to receive the medal for the VIP Suite completion at each level.
  • Assign each set of guests to a room by selecting the guest/s hold and drag the guest to the room of your choice preferably to a room with doors of the same color as the guest/s clothes to make a color match adding $100 to your score plus any multiplier indicated at the door. The ghosts will have a colored bow tie instead of colored clothes.
  • Sets of guests with 3 or more people in the party need to be assigned to a large room with double doors. Individual guests and guest sets with 2 people in the party can be assigned to any size room. Sometimes it's best to assign smaller sets of guests to a large room when available if the multiplier in front of the doors is higher than the multiplier in front of the smaller rooms and a large room is available.

    hotel_dash_ss:hoteldashss_gameplay_03.jpg

  • $100 is deducted from your score for every set of guests that leave before being checked out of the hotel. Guests will leave the hotel when all the red in their hearts disappear.
  • Deliver fruit baskets to each room at the beginning of each level to add $50 to each room as there is usually plenty of time before the guests arrive. Only deliver fruit baskets later in the level when there is time as it is too costly to lose guests over delivering baskets.
  • After the level is completed, there will be a breakdown of the points/dollars awarded during the level. The breakdown includes customers served, hotel service (dollars given for used rooms), color matching, fast service, tips, lost customers and total score. Review the summary for an indication of the areas where you excel and/or need to improve for future levels or to retry the level.

    hotel_dash_ss:hoteldashss_gameplay_04.jpg

  • Have the receptionist turn on the circuit breaker after the mysterious character in the green coat turns off the electricity in the hotel as soon as possible to avoid guests from losing patience. The placement of the circuit breaker is different at each hotel location.
  • The path in which Flo uses the elevators will change with each hotel and will also change at each hotel after an elevator is added. Study her path for the fastest service to the guests. As the game progresses, the path in which Flo takes the elevators becomes more complicated and time consuming.
  • The placement of all items changes with every hotel location. Study the location of the items at the beginning of each hotel location in order to plan the best possible path for Flo in order to serve the guests rapidly.
  • $200 is added to your score for each fast service action. Fast service actions can also be chained.
  • Guests cannot enter rooms if laundry needs to be picked up. This includes laundry used before the guests check-out and placing new guests into used rooms.
  • Perform as many of the same actions consecutively as possible. When 2 or more of the same actions are performed consecutively a chain is created. Chains earn an additional $20 for each action. Example of a chain: Deliver 6 suitcases consecutively without performing another action to receive an additional $120. Picking up laundry, stopping sleepwalkers and ghosts do not interrupt chains. All other actions will break or interrupt chains.  See section on chaining.

UPGRADES, STAR BILLS AND VIP SUITES:

  • The upgrade screen will appear before each level begins. There is no timer in the upgrade screen.
  • All items with a colored price tag can be upgraded. If the price tag is grey, the item has already been purchased and cannot be upgraded further.  Select the colored price tag for a description of the available item along with the cost.

    hotel_dash_ss:hoteldashss_upgrade_01.jpg

  • Flo's delivery cart, the ice machine, mop and the musician can be upgraded multiple times. All other upgrades can be purchased one time only.
  • Expert goal was achieved relatively easily by purchasing and upgrading Flo's cart first; then purchase all star bills for each room followed by upgrading the rest of the items.
  • Three stars can be purchased for each room in the hotel at a cost of $750 each. Every time a set of guests is assigned to a room with upgraded stars, you will receive a star bill for each star. A room with 3 stars will add 3 star bills.
  • Guests assigned to rooms with stars will also leave higher tips which gives you a higher score which in turn gives you additional money for upgrades in the next level.
  • There is one VIP Suite that needs to be upgraded before the ninth level at each hotel in order to receive the VIP Suite medal for each hotel.
  • There are 10 items in each VIP Suite that need to be purchased with star bills. The amount of star bills needed for each item varies. The total amount of star bills needed to complete each VIP Suite gradually increases as the game progresses.

    hotel_dash_ss:hoteldashss_vip_01.jpg

CHAINS:

  • Perform as many of the same actions consecutively as possible; these are called chains and earn an additional $20 for each action. Example of a chain: Deliver 6 trays of food consecutively without performing another action to receive an additional $120.
  • Delivering suitcases, food trays, pillows and towels; mopping up messes; delivering dog food; taking pictures; wake-up calls, checking guests out and disposing of laundry are all actions that can be chained.
  • Picking up laundry and stopping sleepwalkers and ghosts do not break chains. All other actions will break chains.
  • Picking up laundry does not break a chain; however, disposing the laundry in the laundry chute does break a chain.
  • Delivering ice can break a chain.
  • Delivering pillows and towels can be included into the same chain. For example delivering 2 towels and 2 pillows consecutely will award a chain multiplier of 4 for an added $80.

GUEST TYPES, GUEST INFORMATION AND PATIENCE:

  • Guests can arrive dressed in 4 different colors: Red, Blue, Green and Yellow.  Dinertown Suites has red and blue dressed guests. Alpine Ski Lodge has red, blue and green dressed guests. Stark Suites, Tiki Palace Hotel and Dunwich House have red, blue, green and yellow dressed guests.
  • The ghosts in Dunwich House have a colored bow tie instead of colored clothes.
  • Different types of guests have different patience levels. The impatient guests lose their red hearts/patience faster.
  • Guests lose patience the longer they have to wait for their requested service.
  • Guests lose patience faster if they are annoyed by not having electricity, listening to another guest on a cell phone, listening to a barking dog and being annoyed by a ghost.
  • Increase the patience level of guests by having them listen to the musician in the lobby of each hotel or by performing fast service and delivering ice. On some levels a newspaper can be placed in the lounge; should a set of guests lose patience they will go to the lounge and read a newspaper to gain a heart. When guests are reading the newspaper, you cannot deliver anything to their assigned room.
  • Different types of guests require different actions and/or services before checking out.
