Walkthrough Information

Konichiwa! Want to know a little more about Sushi? Here’s your chance, learn a little more about sushi as you play the game. Youda Sushi Chef is a challenging time-management game that will test your memory, strategy and time management skills. Like most restaurant time-management games, the customers indicate their order by a speech bubble above their head. UNLIKE most time-management games, you’ll have to learn the ingredients and correct quantity of ingredients for their order. Sounds easy…maybe after you practice and learn the sushi recipes…let’s just say it’s a challenge. There are two modes of play very easy and normal each mode has different goals to attain. Don’t let the very easy fool you, unless you know the sushi recipes, even the very easy mode can be challenging…to up the challenge, there are 6 different restaurants you’ll visit and each restaurant has its own menu.   HAVE FUN AND ENJOY!

About the game and tips:

  • There are six different restaurants that you’ll visit during the game. These restaurants are yours, so you get to name them and you have to purchase them.
  • There are 7 different days in each restaurant. You have to pass the day to make it to the next day. The first day at a restaurant has no previous upgrades if purchased at a previous restaurant. Luckily the customers arrive at a slower pace and the menu is smaller. Each following day at a restaurant gets progressively harder and is faster paced.
  • Each restaurant has a bar across the scene where your customers automatically sit down when a seat is available. The number of seats on the bar changes depending on the restaurant you’re playing.
  • At the end of each day, you can purchase upgrades for your restaurant. The upgrades vary from assisting in faster customer service to making your restaurant more reputable, items to make your customers more patient or just make it pretty!
  • The money you make each day can be spent on upgrades and purchasing the next restaurant, it can not be spent on purchasing food inventory or toppings for the next day.
  • When you begin a new restaurant, none of the upgrades carry over into that restaurant. You’ll have to start all over. The first day at each restaurant starts with a smaller menu and the low end supplies.
  • Each restaurant begins each day with very little money to purchase additional food inventory. Make food inventory money by filling the customers’ orders correctly and promptly. Should you make a mistake, you’ll receive a pile of garbage which brings down your restaurants reputation, it also wastes food inventory. Get rid of the garbage as fast as possible when it’s on the lower conveyor belt, you can’t remove the garbage when it’s moving along the top of the bar.
  • Fill the reputable bars at each restaurant to maximize profits.
  • To-go orders and reservations bring in more money than the average customer sitting at the bar.
  • There are one or more recipes added to the recipe book each day. The recipe book can be up to 6 pages for each restaurant.
  • Option to skip tutorial available.
  • Customers are waiting while viewing recipe book and while placing rice, sake, and toppings orders.
  • Customers receive their orders from the position in which they are sitting. They receive their orders from left to right along the bar. They do not receive their order in the order they arrive at the bar. This can be somewhat confusing and exasperating. You might/will fill an order for a customer on the far right of the bar…then another customer arrives w/the same order to the left of the customer at the far right. You guessed it the person who just arrived at the left will take the order. Sometimes it’s best to make a duplicate order for the far right customer at the bar. Maybe that customer’s order might make it to him!
  • It might be best the fill the customers orders from right to left as it takes awhile for the orders to reach the customers on the right end of the bar. If another customer or customers have the same order; make all duplicate orders consecutively so the customer on the far right will receive their order. You might make a combo by making duplicate orders also.
  • Customers arrive at the bar in a random order.
  • Customer’s orders are random.
  • Select the knife to perform a knife trick and to increase the customer’s patience. The knife will have to recharge before using again.
  • Give a customer a bottle of sake to improve their mood and patience. Each level starts w/ 2 bottles of sake. You can order additional sake.
  • Restart a level by selecting menu, then exit game and then play.
  • Customers’ patience meters will decline even when they’re eating as the meter starts the minute they sit down.
  • Once a day or level is completed it can’t be replayed unless you start a new game under a new or different player profile.
  • Increase your customer’s patience level by selecting the knife and performing a knife trick or by giving them a sake bottle.

To-go Orders:

  • Bring additional income by allowing more menu items to be sold than just the customers at the bar.
  • BEWARE…in the later levels/restaurants (4-6) the to-go orders can be very large up to 5 plus items. You may not have enough food to fill the order at the beginning of each day and no money to purchase additional rice and toppings. It might be best to ignore or decline the to-go order as you don’t get paid unless it’s filled. Reputation stars are deducted when a to-go order is accepted and isn’t filled.
  • Select yes to accept the to-go order.
  • Select no to decline the to-go order or just ignore the order.
  • There is a timer to complete the to-go order at the left of the to-go order menu bar. Should you not complete the order in time, the order disappears
  • The to-go orders will take the first completed plates in the lower conveyor belt, if the plate of food is one of the items ordered.
  • The option to accept a to-go order is limited.  The option will disappear after a short amount of time.

Reservations:

  • Bring a higher profit than customer’s who arrive automatically at the bar.
  • BEWARE…in the later levels/restaurant (4-6) the reservations can be for up to 5 people; you may not have enough toppings and rice to fill their orders at the beginning of the day and no money to purchase rice or toppings. Not completing a reservation after accepting subtracts reputation stars, plus you’ll loose any toppings or rice for incomplete orders along with the yen.
  • You receive payment when all parties of the reservation leave the restaurant.
  • All members of the reservation party will be wearing the same colored shirts. That way, if they aren’t seated together, you’ll be able to tell which customers are in the reservation party.
  • Seat all members of a reservation party together to receive the maximum amount of yen.
  • When the reservation request pop-up window appears, select yes to accept or no to decline the reservation.
  • Place the “reserved” tent cards in front of the chairs where you want to place the reservation party. When all chairs are open and plates are removed from the reserved seats, select come now and the reservation party will be seated.
  • Not ready to seat the reservation party and the time is almost up, select wait longer to buy more time to seat the reservation party.
  • You can seat a reservation party after the restaurant is already closed.
  • If you have enough empty places available for the reservation party, you don’t have to place the reservation cards on the bar. Press come now and they reservation party will seat themselves automatically; however, they may not always sit next to each other if that option is available.
  • If one customer’s order is delayed in the reservation party…all members of the party will loose patience.

Upgrades:

  • Each restaurant has its own set of upgrades with the same choices and cost whether playing either difficulty level in the game.
  • The Bamboo Rolling Mat, Sushi Knife, Conveyor Belt, Sake Bottle and Telephone can be upgraded 2 times; all other upgrades are for one time only.
  • The Bamboo Rolling Mat, Conveyor Belt and Telephone/Computer can improve the speed at which you can fill orders and are some of the most useful upgrades.
  • Should you fail to make a daily goal; any yen earned can be used for upgrades. Sometimes you might need to purchase an upgrade so you can meet a goal depending on your skill level and previously purchased upgrades.
  • The upgraded Sake bottles give the customer more patience.
  • The upgraded Sushi Knife gives the customers more patience and takes less time to recharge.
  • Upgrades do not carry over into a new restaurant/level.
  • Upgrades that have a description for reputation or looking nice, improve reputation giving you added income when from customer’s orders. Strange as it may seem; just like in real life, customers are willing to pay more for reputation and ambiance.
  • Upgrades that have a description for customer patience, relaxation or vibe, improve customer patience.
  • Yen can be carried over from previous levels to purchase upgrades. It might be best to save some yen for the next restaurant’s upgrades.
  • The upgrades available for each restaurant are under the Restaurant section of the walkthrough.

Placing Inventory Orders for rice, toppings and sake:

  • The black telephone allows you to place orders for 1 item at a time.
  • The digital phone allows you to place orders for toppings 3 at a time. The rice and sake still have to be purchased independently.
  • The computer internet allows you to place orders for all toppings and rice. The sake still has to be purchased independently.
  • Placing phone orders is relatively easy, select the phone then select the category of the item/s you wish to purchase. Then select the item/s of your choice.
  • Placing computer orders by selecting the computer; you have an option to purchase as many items as desired at the same time except sake. If you’re ever in a hurry (LOL); select the “order all” option. The “order all” option fills each topping and rice bin to its maximum level providing you have the funds to do so. This can be a great time saver.
  • Customers are still waiting while placing orders; the time does not stop.

Recipes and Recipe Book:

  • The recipe book can be up to 6 half pages long.
  • Select the arrow on the bottom right of the book to turn to the next page.
  • Select the arrow on the bottom left to return to a previous page.
  • All recipes contain rice/zushi.
  • All recipes except one contain seaweed/nori. The Ikura Maki is the only recipe that doesn’t contain seaweed/nori.
  • Customers are still waiting while you’re looking at the recipe book.
  • Increase your reputation by not viewing the recipe book.
  • Receive a prepare bonus chain when you complete 3 customer orders consecutively and in a short amount of time without looking at the recipe book.
  • Screen shots are available under the restaurants for the recipes available in each restaurant. This is just a suggestion tip, you might want to play the game in window mode and keep the recipe screenshots on the monitor while playing the game. That way you can see the recipes without using the recipe book; saving time and yen (you receive more yen when you don’t view the recipe book).

  • Specials will be on the menu on the Seventh day at each restaurant.
  • The special has the name of the restaurant for that level. Say you named restaurant number 1 as Abili the special will read Abili Special.

  • No garbage on the conveyor keeps the restaurant’s reputation higher. Dispose of the garbage on the lower conveyor belt as soon as possible to keep the restaurant’s reputation higher. Garbage across the bar of the restaurant can not be removed.
  • Not using the recipe book keeps the restaurant’s reputation higher.
  • Filling customer’s orders in a timely manner improves the restaurant’s reputation.
  • Keeping customers happy improves the restaurant’s reputation.
  • Purchase upgrades that assist in customer reputation or that “look nice” to increase the reputation rating.
  • The amount the customer’s pay for their orders depends on the reputation level of the restaurant. Maximize the reputation rating to receive the most yen.
