Walkthrough Information
How do I know what my worker is doing? The bottom bar tells you. The main time it is confusing is when your worker is taking a break but he will go back to his work. If you're not sure, then just drag him back. You can quickly cycle through all the workers with the arrows of space bar. The worker you are looking at will have a big blue arrow over him.
You pick one up by clicking on him and dragging him to where he needs to work. However, you can't just drop him down. You must move him around until you see a green explanation point. He will make a surprised noise when you pick him up and a no noise when you set it him to work. If there is more than one task in close proximity then look at the bottom panel to make sure he is doing the right thing.
You can't make her work faster until you get a coffee machine, but you can make her walk faster by dragging her to where you want her to go. When she is dropped to pick up something on the ground such as mushrooms, be sure to let her actually pick it up. If you are too quick the product will just disappear. This doesn't seem to happen with farm materials or trash though.
Drag the worker over to the storage hut. A menu will open up. It will the quantities of all the edible products you have in storage. It will also show in either red or green a negative number. This indicates the number of that foot item it will take to fill up your worker. A red number means you do not have enough to fill him up. Select the item that has the lowest total resale value to feed your worker. For example, if you have the choice between 10 berries or 1 french fry, you would choose the berries because it has less value even when made into jam. Also be patient and let them finish eating before you drag them away during that first feed your workers tas. Your worker will then feed himself unless you don't have what he needs in storage. Once the bistro is built you can also drag him over to the bistro and it will cost you cash instead of products. Using the bistro to feed your workers near the end is pretty convenient.
Improve the mood of the workers by dragging one who is not actively working but walking around. You will get the green ! sign plus a small happy face. It looks like they are walking away from each other but they are actually repositioning to be face to face. Sometimes it is easier to drag a happy worker to your unhappy worker.
Change your workers names or give them task-related last names. I did this from the very beginning, assigning last names like Berry and Lab. I stopped naming the workers after 10 because I kept all these workers doing milk and then flour. You do not need to always keep them at the last name task but it's easier to figure out who is doing what when you can just look at the last name and then see what they are doing
When they may a comment about not being able to do it, just drag them over again.
You will know that a worker is sick because you will hear coughing. You will know which worker is sick because they have a little pill bottle with a red cross above their heads and on their picture. Just drag them over to the bed in the clinic. You will need $100 to pay for the treatment.
At the very beginning send a worker to become your scientist and then just ignore him. If you do so, there will only be one or two times that you will need to send an extra worker to get points faster.
First you should upgrade as soon as you can. However even after the final upgrade you will run out of space if you keep too many prepared products. In fact, you will only be able to prepare 2 dishes at a time if you keep all ingredients in stock. You might want to consider waiting to prepare your task dishes until you have enough supplies. This will allow you to prepare other dishes for sale.
Drag your most experienced builder (the bar in the middle shows builder skill) to the building. Wait until you see the green ! You can also send a crowd over to help with the building.
More workers! And coffee! Just like real life.
Putting additional workers on a farm will substantially increase your output. Planting and harvesting time is twice as fast with 2 workers and growing time is a bit faster but not quite twice. Still if you are in a rush, putting a lot of workers will definitely increase your time. This is especially important for wheat. If you take a look at the walkthrough you will see a lot of recipes at the end that need wheat.
The easiest way to do is to let a scientist do all of the work since he needs to do the last part anyway. Just drag him over to the totem area, twice it's a red X and once it is in the grass across the river. He will clear it off it hasn't been already. Then for all of the totems you just place him over on the totem plate and he will open it. Make sure you see the green !.
One reason is that your workers are eating the food. If this is the case, you will need to take the offending worker (if you can figure out who it is) and place him on the storage shed and choose to feed him with something you don't need as much. Unfortunately there is no way to figure out exactly what someone has been set to eat.
First you need workers to make money. But the easiest way to make money is fish, especially after building the fishing farm. French fries are good too because potatoes are not used in many of the recipes and they seem to grow faster. Also take the contracts. You have plenty of time to fill them and they always seem to come when you need the money.
First you have to have a corn field and cow barn. By this point in the game, I like to put at least 5 workers on the cornfield to get the first corn requirement met. After that is done, don't collect anymore unless you need them for recipes. Use a lot of workers to get your corn barn made quickly. Buy the 3 cows. Once the barn is built, you want to drag your workers onto the barn. This will cause them to do everything needed for the cows. Once they've fed them all the corn, they will replant the corn field. Just be careful you don't have a rogue worker who is taking your corn to storage as you can't get that corn back. Each container of milk brought to storage is actually equivalent to 5 inside storage. It seems like you need one corn for each milk or 5 corn for one container.
Buy more chickens. You should be able to get more than enough.
Similar to the milk except that your workers can use the stored wheat. Also you will lots and lots of flour for the rest of the game. You can almost permanently assign five workers for this task and you will still end up waiting for flour at times. Use a bunch of workers on the wheat field and then when the mill is being built, you can leave a few workers there to keep farming the wheat while the rest work on building. Once the mill is built, just drag the worker to the mill and they will also farm the wheat when necessary. You may want to keep an eye on your storage to make sure you are not accumulating wheat and there are also points in the game where you need that wheat slot to stay empty. In this case, drag a worker up to the mill and she will go down and get the wheat. It takes 3 loads of wheat for 1 flour so this is a very labor intensive process.
No, you do not. If you need it to proceed on with the game, it will become a task. You will want to upgrade your storage and build huts when you can afford them since they help you make money.
You can pretty much do it as quickly or leisurely as you like. The trash doesn't seem to really affect anything with the gameplay as long as you get it picked up eventually. You can just send one worker to get the trash. Just drop her on the first piece and eventually she will get all of it, albeit inefficiently. You do want to buy the trash can so you don't get fined.
Again you don't need to freak out about them. They won't eat your crops; they just attack your storage. Just be sure you get them all before they get to the storage. Green worms take one whack, yellow worms take two, and red worms take three whacks. There is a counter off to the right so keep an eye on it, so that a rogue worm doesn't sneak into your storage.
First these questions comes up at random so I can't tell you the order they come in. However, I can tell you that you should agree to everything except tasting the unusual red berries. At one point you will be asked whether you want to vaccinate your workers and even when you choose yes, you get the doom and gloom message. Don't worry, your crew won't get sick.
Move your scientist almost right into the fireplace.
After buying the machete, set a few workers on it. They will be dragging brush off to the trash.
Only a builder can move it. The stone that needs to be moved is to the left of the small waterfall. It has some squiggly lines on it.
Drag your scientist over the totem and wait until you see green !. He will stay on the bridge but if you read what he is doing, you will be reassured.
First it's not a stove but a tablet. Just send a builder over with some extra workers if you can as it does take a bit of time.
First it is across the river and you will see some light coming up through the grass. Look at the collections map if you can't find it. Send your scientist over. He will clean off the spot and then you will need to move him back to open the totem.
Remember how some of the workers thought there was a cave. Send your workers to the rock wall between the bee hives and the mill.
You need to send your builder to the tree just to the right of it and have him chop it down. Then you can send your scientist to open the totem.
Once you open the totem you will get the request for cakes and when you finish the cooking contest you will be given the cake recipe.
