Otherworld: Omens of Summer Walkthrough

I think what initially caught me about Otherworld: Omens of Summer was the talk of fey. Like many people, I’m a sucker for magical beings, especially fairies and the like. So even though I hadn’t played the original game in the series, I hit download and prepared for a good time.

Happily, the storyline for Otherworld: Omens of Summer is pretty easy to follow, even without that first game: You play the part of a woman who saved Fiona, a young girl born with the ability to use magic, from an evil Shade who wants to cover the earth in an eternal winter. Even though Fiona is now safe, the Shade is far from defeated, so in this game, you have to find Fiona’s teacher and work together to find a way to stop the Shade once and for all.

Beyond an interesting plot, I found the world of Otherworld: Omens of Summer to be quite delightful. The colors and images were beautiful, and I really enjoyed just sitting back and taking everything in. The hidden object areas were also rather entertaining and highly interactive; no endless collection of junk here! On occasion I had trouble figuring out what I was supposed to be moving or clicking or adjusting, but I always got there in the end (Thanks, walkthrough guru!).

The puzzles were a little more hit-or-miss for me; some of them I got right off the bat, while I struggled with the objective of others. They were all beautiful, and I often caught on after a short time, but I do wish there had been more consistency. I like knowing if I should be feeling happy or aggravated when a puzzle pops up.

There is, however, a lot of wandering around, and, as I may have mentioned in previous posts, I’m not so great at the goal-oriented wandering around. (A few days ago I got lost going from work to my friend’s house; I’ve done that trip a million times, but apparently that doesn’t count for anything. Boo directional fail.)

Anyway, I was lucky enough to have our Otherworld: Omens of Summer Walkthrough along for the journey, so the amount of time I spent standing around either lost or trying to figure out what to do with the latest item I received was greatly diminished.

Our walkthrough guru has packed this thing with all the hints, tips, and custom screenshots you’ll need to make sure the world isn’t fated to another ice age. So remember to keep our Otherworld: Omens of Summer Walkthrough with you and have fun!
