Lost Souls: Enchanted Paintings Walkthrough
Hey gamers! I just played a little bit of a really cute game. The title made me think it would be darker somehow, but it was right up my alley, more fantasy like. The game was Lost Souls: Enchanted Paintings by game developer Fenomen Games. We've seen the plot before. Child is taken through a painting/drawing and nobody can find them. You must enter said painting/drawing in order to find the child. In this particular game, you must enter several different paintings and each one contains a different world which must be helped in some way before they will help you find your son. Little selfish in my opinion, but since the main character is a woman, maybe I should look at it this differently. Empowerment for women! Yes, no need for men to save the day and all that jazz. Anyway... Inside each world, there are smaller parts shown on a map with numbers that indicate how many tasks you need to complete. They can be incredibly simple tasks, hidden object areas, or even puzzles. The game play is a bit unique in that respect. When there is no more to do in a particular scene, it actually tells you, which is nice otherwise you could be sitting there forever scratching your head going, okay, what's next?! This means you need to go to another spot on your map, complete something, and return later until all the tasks are completed. This means you bounce back and forth between the same scenes a lot. This is a pretty fast paced game, or maybe that's just because I'm an expert. In the short time I played it, I had to find parts and build a snowman, melt some ice, complete a couple hidden object areas which were moderately hard (that means I actually had to use at least one hint because I simply could not find the object) and some puzzles that were pretty simple. The graphics are quite beautiful and possibly the best part of the game. I loved the artwork, all hand drawn, and all the little attention details. The music, which I rarely listen to, was very nice too. The voiceovers were very well done. Myself personally, I think it's a cute and fun game. I think it would be pretty easy to finish in a day or two and I think even a younger crowd could probably play it, it would just take them a bit longer. I think it's a very nice casual, relaxing game if you just want to escape for a bit. A quick note to all the North Easterners, I hope you have a mushtopper (pronounced mush-taw-purr) because I hear there is going to be a lot of rain coming your way! Yes, a mushtopper is an umbrella. Yes, I am the word nerd.
