Ella's Hope is the first of what I hope will be a wonderful series of new strategy games. Having not played Aveyond, this was my first foray into RPG games and I absolutely loved this game. While initially not too enthused by the seemingly simple gameplay and graphics, I was quickly and completely absorbed by the story line and the challenge of this game.
Ella is a mysterious young lady with special powers that she will need to use to survive her apprenticeship as a Guardian. Along the way she meets her fellow apprentices to explore magical worlds and fight new foes while training to help take care of her world--a world that is now being assaulted by a new foe.
Ella's Hope was produced using the same platform as Aveyond but is most definitely a completely new adventure. This new software developer is already working on a prequel to this game and has just released her second game, The Witch and The Warrior which is not part of this series. In fact, I am off to play it and hope to write a walkthrough in the near future.
