Finding the Orb of Light

Naylith Summit

Now that you have all four keys, get moving and head back to Naylith Summit. Put the keys in their proper place and get ready for the magic to happen… wait… what just fell out of the raven? An egg… an ugly brown egg to boot.

What on earth are you going to do with this? Make a giant omelet? Well, how about you try to hatch the darn thing and see what happens. Hopefully it won’t have fangs and claws.

Go to the Moo Hatchery for hatching time.

Moo Hatchery

The Moo Hatchery is to the south of Brightwood Forest and is home to a man who has a passion for eggs… whatever floats your boat.

Anyhow, here is where you can hatch your brown ugly egg. Go into the building to the east and talk to the egg lover. He’ll tell you how to hatch the egg.

Once the egg hatches, out springs, not a bird… not a plane, not superman… it’s a giant raven! Oh wait, I guess that is a bird. Nevermind… I thought I was being funny

The bird flies away without even saying hello. Now where do you think that bird could have flown off to? Wasn’t there a giant bird cage at the Naylith Summit? Why don’t you go back there and find out what’s going on.

Naylith Summit

Well what do you know… there’s that bird on top of the cage. It seems like it’s waiting for you to do something. Well, get in cage so it can go already! Once you step inside the cage the bird carries you off into the sky where you soon find yourself in Naylith.

Rose Forest

Once on solid ground again, you find yourself in Rose Forest. The creatures here will only attack you if you attack them so relax for a bit and explore the area.

You’ll eventually come to a very familiar cliff… well it should be familiar unless you weren’t paying attention in the beginning of the game… were you? Because this is the very cliff that Stella was pushed off of in her dream. Is any of this coming back to you? Well lucky for you, Stella remembers. She also remembers that she used to have wings and that they were torn off. She used to live in this land in the sky. Stella is sure that the Orb of Light is in the nearby cave.

So what are you waiting for? Go already!

Seer’s Cavern

Ok, so maybe I spoke to soon. You’ll soon discover that you can only go so far in this cave when your path is blocked by a giant. A big and scary giant. In a room that is littered with tattered wings.

Backup slowly and get out of there. Return to the Rose Forest and head north to the city of Naylith.

Naylith

In the city of Naylith you meet a familiar face. That annoying jerk Hercules has somehow managed to get out of prison and he made his way up here in the sky. Oh great. After talking to him, he tells you that he was hired to slay the giant in the nearby cave. Well, at least he’s good for something and that will help clear the way for you. Upgrade your weapons, and stock up on some supplies while you’re in the city.

When you’re ready, go back out to that cave… oh and be ready for a fight… just in case.

Seer’s Cavern

Once you are back in the cave, you’ll meet up with Hercules. What’s this? He sprained his ankle and can’t fight? Oh what a surprise… some hero he is. I guess if you want something done right, you need to do it yourself. Go get that giant.

Wow… he’s pretty big and tough and strong. But don’t worry, you can take him. Once you defeat the giant, or just about defeat him, your good old friend Hercules rushes in to deliver the final blow. He then tells you he guesses he didn’t need your help after all. What happened to that sprained ankle jerkules?

The good news is that the giant is dead and the path is clear. Even more good news… Stella is sure the Orb of Light is in the next room! And, guess what? It is!

So is this the end of your adventure? Alas, no… something so surprising and horrible is about to happen. Mel hands Stella the orb and she throws it to the ground, smashing it into a million pieces. Why Stella?

We quickly learn that Stella was once the guardian of the orb but that she was overtaken by the evil vampire Gyendal. He has control over her and forced her to break the orb.

Dismayed and disheartened the group has no other choice but to seek the advice of the oracle back in Aveyond.
