I have really enjoyed most of the hidden object game produced by Elephant Games, so I was excited to see a new installment by them. Riddles of Fate: Wild Hunt has a familiar storyline – a damsel in distress and a city held captive by spirits of another world. Your mission is to save the girl, and the city, before the darkness takes over for good.

Riddles of Fate Wild Hunt Title

As expected, the graphics in Riddles of Fate: Wild Hunt are well done – crisp and clear and above average animation. In my opinion, Elephant Games is known for their games being well put together and graphically superior.

Likewise the voice-overs are less annoying than most and realistic, to a degree. The background music and special effect sounds blended in well with the game and did not present a distraction.

Riddles of Fate Wild Hunt Graphics

I will say the gameplay in Riddles of Fate: Wild Hunt was less challenging than I would have liked and my only reason for not giving it 5 stars. I could have dealt with the blasé storyline if the game had held more challenge for me but it was really quite simple.

On the plus side, you pick up an adorable little bat named Louis as a sidekick to help with some tasks.  He’s seriously cute! I was also highly entertained by the on-screen prompts when I would do something wrong (i.e. “not a ghost of a chance” and “hmmm, I’m so rarely wrong”).

I appreciated the on-screen task reminder to keep me on track. I can be a little like Doug from the movie Up – easily distracted as I wander through the game. The ever-present reminder was like my Outlook taskbar keeping me on track, even if I didn’t want to be…squirrel!!

Riddles of Fate Wild Hunt Hidden Object Games

The hidden object scenes sprinkled throughout Riddles of Fate: Wild Hunt are pretty typical – somewhat cluttered, dark scenes that require a little extra interaction to uncover all of the objects. In casual mode, hints are readily available, but I was never tempted to use one as the scenes are completed easily enough.

As expected, each HOG generates a useful object for your inventory to be used elsewhere in the game.  There is a bit of back and forth as you constantly uncover items in one scene that you knew you needed three screens ago, but the map helps since you’re able to fast travel to different locations. It will also identify areas with play available, which I find useful when I’m off being distracted.

Riddles of Fate Wild Hunt Puzzles

Not surprisingly, I liked the mini-games more than the HOS in Riddles of Fate: Wild Hunt. Though most of them were familiar, I always like the games that require some logic and foresight to complete them quickly. I also like games that domino – open one mini-game and complete a task that then flips you into another game so you get to experience several games at once.

Overall, Riddles of Fate: Wild Hunt was an enjoyable and relaxing game that was well put together and definitely worth a try.
