The Fool Walkthrough covers all five chapters with both video and images to help you out. A dragon is attacking the village, brave knights everywhere are perishing trying to defeat him! You can use this walkthrough to help you defeat the dragon and win the heart of the princess!

Overview: A dragon is attacking the village, brave knights everywhere are perishing trying to defeat him! Can you defeat the dragon and win the heart of the princess?

Hints: These are unlimited but must recharge between uses. The hints are only available during hidden object searches. The hint "button" is the cute owl.

Hidden Object Areas: These very by player, therefor only inventory items will be highlighted. Hidden objects in red required you to do something with in the scene. I will tell you how to solve these in the guide (not the screenshot).

Chapter 1: Dragonfang

Outside Village
  1. talk to the lumberjack
  2. take the Knight Boots and click dress up
  3. take the Ladder
  4. go up to the town square

  1. examine the cart - hidden object area
    • Four O'Clock - change the clock hands to read 4:00
    • Baked Bread - open bakery oven door, take bread off top, place bread in oven, shut the door, pull the lever, open the door and take the baked bread
    • take Leg Armor and click dress up
  2. go up to the market

  1. examine the flowers - hidden object area
    • Pencil House - move the colored pencils to form the shape of a house
    • take the Brooch
  2. go left into the dungeon

  1. move the board and take the Coins
  2. use the Chain on the mechanism
  3. enter the jail

  1. talk to the prisoner
  2. go back to the courtyard
Courtyard
  1. break the vase (in front of the sleeping knight) and collect the Coins
  2. go through the middle arch to the king's throne
King's Throne
  1. take the Ale under the King's throne
  2. return to the courtyard and go through the right arch to the princess tower

  1. use the Ladder on the left wall
  2. push the brick and take the Silver Coin
  3. enter the princesses room

  1. talk to the Princess
  2. give her the Brooch
  3. look behind the vase
  4. examine the picture - puzzle
    • use the wooden knobs to change various elements in the picture
  5. take the Lockpick and Coins
  6. return to the dungeon

Dungeon
  1. examine the locked cabinet - puzzle
    • use the Lockpick to solve the puzzle
    • you need to press the correct locks
    • there are clues to the which ones you should press etched on the lock
    • solution: square root of 9 = 3; 2x2+1 = 5; 5 - 3 = 2 (press 2, 3, & 5)
  2. take the Shield and click dress up
  3. return to the market
Market
  1. examine the machine - puzzle
    • place the Silver Coin in the slot
    • swap all the circles from one side to the other
    • you only have 101 moves to accomplish this
    • note: you can skip this puzzle
  2. take the Pipe
  3. give he merchant the Coins
  4. take the Breastplate and click dress up
  5. return to the jail

  1. give the prisoner the pipe
  2. take the Helmet and click dress up
  3. return to the outside of town
Outside of Town
  1. give the lumberjack the Ale
  2. take his Saw
  3. go right to the base of dragon mountain

  1. examine the potion store
    • use the Key in the lock
  2. you will automatically enter

  1. take the Silver Coin
  2. take the Quickgrow
  3. read the recipe on the back wall
  4. exit

    • Number 669 - rearrange the numbers under the window until they read 669
    • take the Mandragora Seeds
  2. return to the market

  1. examine the machine - puzzle
    • place the Silver Coin in the slot
    • the object is to press only 5 squares and leave 4 equal shapes remaining
    • take the Stardust

    • Origami Bird - fold the paper in the front several times (the paper is between the bench and the rolling pen)
    • Jack In The Box - press the button on the box (sitting by the guitar)
    • take the Tobacco

  1. examine the flower pot 
    • place the Mandragora Seeds in the pot
    • use the Quickgrow on the seeds
    • take the Mandragora Root
  2. return to the jail

  1. give the prisoner the Tobacco
  2. take the Unicorn Horn
  3. return to the potion store
Potion Store
  1. place the Flask on the table
  2. put the Mandragora Root, Stardust, and Unicorn Horn into the left flask
  3. take the Sleeping Potion
  4. shake it with your mouse left/right
  5. return to the cave
Cave
  1. pour the Sleeping Potion into the water
  2. wait for the dragon to fall sleep
  3. go down and right into the dragon's lair
Dragon's Lair
  1. examine the dragon's head
  2. use the Saw to remove the Dragon Fang
  3. move the saw left/right to remove the fang
  4. return to the king's throne
King's Throne
  1. place the Dragon Fang on the pillow beside the King
Chapter 2: Mortenland

Outside Castle
  1. talk to the guard
  2. examine the tree
    • take the Skeleton Arm
  3. give the Skeleton Arm to the guard
  4. when the guard counts down ...1...2...3 pull the lever on the left (by the tree)
  5. enter the crossroads
Crossroads
  1. go up to the necromancer's gate
Necromancer Gate
  1. pick up the Sun Disc
  2. examine the tree - hidden object area
    • Doll - turn the pulley several times so the dolls head meets the body
    • Man in the Mirror - turn the mirror once so you can see yourself
    • Cat - move the bonnet (hat) to find the cat hiding underneath
    • take the Moon Battery
  3. examine the box - puzzle
    • place the Moon Battery on the side
    • the object is to transfer the buttons on the left to the right
    • they are already in the correct order
    • when you pick them up with the prong it will flip them
  4. take the Digging Permit
  5. go down to the crossroads

  1. examine the cemetery gate
    • place the Sun Disc in the gate

  3. take the Unresurrected Zombie
  4. return to the necromancer's gate
Necromancer Gate
  1. Flan will give you a Key
  2. use the Key on the gate
  3. enter the foyer
Foyer
  1. examine the box by the left door - puzzle (see video)
    • take the pin on the right
    • use the pin to draw the picture(s) on the right
    • you must trace the lines already there
  2. take the Green Diamond
  3. go through the left door to the armory







Armory
  1. pick up the Blank Paper
  2. examine the back door - hidden object area
    • Green Apple - pick up the green paint off the top, left shelf
    • Money - open the cash register
    • Scarecrow - move the curtain
    • take the Oil Can
  3. push the bullseye on the pedestal
  4. examine the machine that appears - puzzle
    • use the Oil Can in the funnel
    • click the start button
    • the helmet will show you a diamond
    • you must follow that helmet until it stops
    • pick the correct helmet to retrieve the diamond
    • solution: right helmet
    • take the Blue Diamond
  5. exit and go right into the spell room

  1. examine the bookshelf 
    • take the Material Spells on the top shelf, far right
  2. return to the crossroads
Crossroads
  1. examine the printing press
    • place the Blank Paper in the tray
    • pour the Ink into the inkwell
    • pull the lever until a book appears
  2. take the Color Spells
  3. return to the spell room
Spell Room
  1. place the Spell Books on the pedestals
  2. place the Magical Clay on the middle pedestal
  3. click each book twice
  4. exit the room
Foyer
  1. place the Crystals above the door
  2. enter the necromancer's room
Necromancer's
  1. take the Magical Clay
  2. place the Corpse on the platform
  3. examine the octagon on the wall - puzzle
    • place the symbols in the most logical order
    • they layer upon each other
    • solution: sun, stars, cloud, fire, bird, armor
  4. return to the spell room

  1. examine the coffin - hidden object area
    • Dancing Ballerina - wind the key on the ballerina

    • take the Iron Mannequin
  2. return to the armory

    • place the Iron Mannequin in the cover

  2. take the Holy Water and the Fishing Knife
  3. return to outside the castle
Outside the Castle
  1. examine the mailbox (on the left wall)
    • use the Fishing Knife on the key hole
  2. take the Moon Symbol
  3. return to the necromancer's
Necromancer's
  1. place the items in the correct places around the corpse
  2. simply click each pedestal to find out what it needs
  3. give the man the Necronomicon
  4. enter the teleportal
Chapter 3: Steam City

Train Station
  1. examine the strange contraption - hidden object area
    • Boxing Glove - press the red button
    • Ticket - click the torn ticket on top of the crate several times
  2. give the Ticket to the conductor
  3. board the train
Train
  1. read the magazine cover
  2. you will automatically exit the train
Train Platform
  1. read the sign
    • pick up the "E" on the bottom
  2. continue up three times
Outside Airship
  1. examine the sign
    • pick up the Factory Pass and the "F"
  2. go down twice and right once
Outside Charlie's Steam Works
  1. examine the box on the wall - puzzle (see video)
    • move each colored circle to the matching colored circle
    • click on the circle you want to move
    • you can only move it in the direction of the arrows that appear
  2. take the Key
  3. examine the box on the right wall (by the window)
    • place the Factory Pass in the slot
  4. enter the factory


Charlie's Steam Works
  1. pick up the Train Pass
  2. examine the grate and take the "F"
  3. exit to outside the factory

    • Movie - turn the knob on the television
    • Broken Lightbulb - push the brick
    • Poem - use the typewriter
    • take the Engine Propeller

  1. examine the column

    • Hive - push open the swinging doors

  2. examine the robot - he needs a pocket watch

    • place the Steel Pipe in the fan blades

  2. return to charlies steam works and enter the engine room

  1. pick up the "Y" in the left tube
  2. place the Engine Propeller, Body, Rotor and Bolts in the machine
  3. a door will open - puzzle
    • move the O's and X's so they match the diagram on the left
  4. get the Engine
  5. return to outside the museum

    • push the right arrow until it's all the way over

  2. examine the hatch - hidden object area
    • Inflated Balloon - turn the knob on the air pump
    • Medical Syringe - open the first aid box 
    • take the Stone Torch
  3. return to the astronomer

  2. enter the observatory

  1. examine  the telescope - puzzle
    • move your mouse around in different directions until an object forms

    • use both Keys on the door
    • take the Yellow Diode
  4. cross back over the bridge
City
  1. examine the blacksmith's - hidden object area
    • Pocketful of Nails - rip the pocket on the blacksmith
    • Wax Heart - knock over the candle
    • take the Hammer
  2. examine the fountain
    • place the Stone Torch in the statues hands
  3. enter the secret room

  1. pick up the Yellow Diode
  2. use the Hammer on the large bell
  3. take the Robes and click dress up
  4. return to the temple

  1. enter the doors - puzzle
    • pick a spot anywhere on the board
    • continue to try and expand you area on the board by clicking neighboring cells
    • you must have more area on the board than Bobo to win the game
    • solutions are random
  2. take the Scroll
  3. return to the ruins
Ruins
  1. examine the wall
    • place the Scroll in the statues hand
  2. take the Yellow Diode
  3. return to the UFO
UFO
  1. place the three Yellow Diodes in the front, center of the UFO
  2. take the Power Unit
  3. return to the monument
Monument
  1. place both Power Units int he base of the monument
  2. examine the wall - puzzle (see video)
    • use the arrows to find a bad circuit
    • use the plus and minus signs to reach the voltage indicated by the number in red
  3. enter the elevator
  4. pull the lever twice and exit

Chapter 5: Dragon's Castle

Outside Dragon Castle
  1. pick up the Eagle Tablet Part
  2. continue forward

  1. pick up the Lock
  2. go right
Dining Room
  1. examine the Christmas tree
    • unwrap the gift
    • take the Baby Dragon Suit and click dress up
    • take the Rope with Hook
  2. examine the box on the right - puzzle (see video)
    • move the circles around using the arrows
    • the circles must match the background color
  3. take the Sign of the Dragon
  4. pick up the Eagle Tablet Part
  5. go through the left doorway

  1. examine the vase
    • take the Wet Matches
  2. go back into the dining room and go through the right door
Celler
  1. take the Black Pepper
  2. return to the giant flower

  2. pick up the Eagle Tablet Part
  3. go down twice
Inside Dragon Castle
  1. examine the block above the door - puzzle (see video or screenshot)
    • place the three Eagle Tablet Parts in the center
    • the objective is to match the moving eagle parts with the still ones
    • click a circle to highlight it
    • highlighting a circle will cause the moving eagle to either change direction (arrow circle) or light/unlight (half moon circles)
  2. examine the door
    • place the Sign of the Dragon in the door
  3. go up the stairs (left)

Balcony
  1. pick up the Lock
  2. exit and go through the doors

  1. pick up the Hand Drill
  2. examine the dragon's water
    • use the Rope with Hook to pick up the Lock
  3. return to the celler

  1. place the three Locks on each of the pedestals with a lock symbol
  2. watch the creature eat all the locks
  3. examine the door - hidden object area
    • Dragon Photo - drag the pieces of the photo on the clothesline to the middle
    • Bottle with Wine - turn the faucet on the keg
    • Bean Smiley -  rearrange the beans (under the creature)
    • take the Dynamite
  4. examine the pot on the stove
    • place the Wet Matches on the pot
  5. pick up the Dry Matches
  6. return to the balcony

  1. use the Hand Drill on the crack in the rock
  2. click the handle several times to drill a hole in the rock
  3. place the Dynamite inside the rock and light it with the Matches
