Note: This guide is based on the newer version of Fashion Fits (ver 1.1). To find out which version you have, go to the Credits page. The version number is in the bottom right corner. If you have an older version, you may want to contact customer support from the link where you downloaded the game to get an updated version.

Step one: Relax and remember… it’s a game.
Although I may not be a time management champ, I do enjoy these types of games. I found myself getting flustered from time to time but I realized that this is one of the more challenging TM games out there. Everyone will find a pattern that works better for them. Here are some tips that might help.

  • Your goal is to keep your shelves stocked with the latest fashions and cater to customers of all ages. This largely depends on how well you know your customers and how you prepare for each stage of the game.
  • There are three customer lines to manage (dressing room, register and customer service) while re-stocking shelves.
  • For me personally, I found it easier to give up on re-stocking the shelves once the store gets too busy and serve the customers from the “customer service” line instead once the shelves empty. This may work for you as well. Plus, it cuts back on the number of items you’ll place on the discard rack.

Step Two: Keep the lines moving

  • The game’s design has customers getting very vocal with you as they grow impatient. This may create a panicked sense of urgency from time to time. When this happens, refer to the title of step one above.
  • The customers will really start complaining once there are more than 5 in any line. Try to keep it to four customers in any given line at a time.
  • This will also help you to remember not to stop what you’re doing to cater to a noisy customer (especially if he/she is in a short line). No matter how bitchy they sound, they should still stick around. However, if there are more than 5 people in any line, they’ll all start getting angry.
  • Once your shelf stock is gone, people will start going straight to the customer service desk for clothing. Like I said before, this keeps them “corralled” and easier (IMO) to handle.
  • In the check-out line, I noticed that you usually only have to click the cash register once and all the customers in line will stream through.
  • Try not to let the cash register line become full of angry people. You got them this far… it would be a waste to lose them right at the point of purchase or have them buy fewer goodies because they are angry.

Step Three: You only have two hands…

  • Although you can queue up to 6 actions at a time, you still only have two hands. Pay attention to the order in which things need to be done since your actions are executed in the order in which you clicked them.
  • As usual, right clicking will cancel an action and all actions are numbered in the order they will be performed to help you keep track.
  • I found it easier to always have an item in my hand. There are only a limited number of fashions for each gender. Once the store gets full, your chances of someone wanting whatever’s in your hands are pretty good.
  • As you come out of the back room you can still wrap a gift for someone even if your hands are full.
  • Certain customers will ALWAYS leave the first thing they try on in the dressing room. I’ve noticed at times that they may even buy the same item they left behind the first time. Once you learn who does this, (see step 4) do not automatically restock what they take off the shelves. You’ll wind up with too many items and waste time by having to discard something.
  • NOTE: You do not get penalized for discarding items so using the discard shelf to clean out the dressing rooms is also another option to consider in order to keep things flowing. I just try to avoid it because it takes longer to get items from the stock room.

Step Four: The Handbook is your friend!

  • Before every level, be sure to read the handbook! Not only does it tell you what to expect from each customer type, it will also give you tips on how to make more $$ from them by showing you the pictures of what clothes they like best. This will help you decide what upgrades to purchase. I mean, if you know the cheerleader likes the blue dress best, why upgrade the men’s slacks, right?
  • The following is a breakdown of every customer type. While their tastes in clothes may change (which is why you always check the handbook!!) their character traits do not. Note: After compiling this, I realized that this pretty much reads like a service industry person’s worst customer nightmare!
  • BUSINESS WOMAN
    • VERY impatient, so keep a close eye on her
    • Will buy lots of goodies
    • Always leaves the first item in the dressing room!
  • CHEERLEADER
    • Somewhat impatient
    • Buys few goodies
    • Always leaves the first item in the dressing room!
  • COLLEGE BOY
    • Somewhat impatient
    •  Buys few goodies
    • Expects fitting room service. This means that he will call you from the dressing room to bring him a different item and hand you what he brought in with him. Very annoying. NOTE: If the handbook says he like a certain item of clothing. Have it ready to hand him after he goes in to save time.
  • DAD
    • VERY Patient – We like him already
    • Always buys the first thing he tries on. (Whew! Thanks dad!)
    • Likes his clothes gift wrapped when it’s available.
  • GRANDMA
    • Very Patient
    • Always leaves the first item in the dressing room!
  • GRANDPA
    • Very Patient
    • Buys a few goodies
    • Always leaves the first item in the dressing room!
  • PUNK BOY (My favorite!!)
    • Sullen, but very patient!
    • Always buys two items of clothing so once you see him go in a dressing room with a second item, you know he’s heading for the cash register.
    • Buys a few goodies to boot!
  • SCHOOLGIRL (not a favorite)
    • Cheap
    • Impatient
    • Demands fitting room service
  • SOCCER MOM
    • Very patient
    • Buys a few goodies
    • Always buys the first thing she tries on.
    • Likes her clothes gift wrapped when it’s available
  • SURFER
    • Somewhat impatient
    • Buys a few goodies
    • Always buys two items of clothing so once you see him go in a dressing room with a second item, you know he’s heading for the cash register.
  • SUPERMODEL (sooo not my favorite!)
    • Impatient
    • Expects fitting room service … TWICE!
  • TRENDY GIRL
    •  Impatient
    • Buys some goodies
    • Expects fitting room service. she will call you from the dressing room to bring a different item and hand you what she brought in. Very annoying. NOTE: If the handbook says she like a certain item of clothing. Have it ready to hand her after she goes in to save time.

Step Five: Upgrade!
There are several upgrades throughout the game but remember that you don’t have to buy stuff every round. Try saving your $$ to upgrade Francine’s speed first.

  • Drinks - Replenished each month. You only get 2 – 3 per month so use them wisely! Try to give them to customers whom you know will spend more money (I cannot stress how much you need to check that handbook).
  • Clothing – Upgrade to articles of clothing that will net you more money. NOTE: Always check the handbook before upgrading clothes so you know what you’ll sell more of.
  • Clothing Racks – These allow for three items of clothing instead of two.
  • Fitting Rooms – You can have a max of four. I found it helpful to get those first as well to help when customers leave clothes in them.
  • Goodies - Goodies = candy at the cash register. Upgrade these often. The few extra $$ you make can be the difference in clearing a level!

Step Six: When all else fails, REFER TO STEP ONE!!!!
