THE BEGINNING: ELFWOOD
[ courtesy of Joe ]
Introduction
When you begin the game you will be introduced to Ean and his friend Iya. If you choose to play the tutorial, it will recommend you save your game before guiding you through the basic controls.
Talk to your mom and dad before you leave the house to find out that Iya is taking her magic test by the Elder Oak. Leave the house. Side Quest: If you talk to the villagers, you will find a young girl with a new teddy bear, and a young boy whose teddy bear has been taken. You have the option of returning the bear to the young boy. To the right side of the screen is a chest with coins in it. If you keep traveling east, you will see a statue that you can donate 10 coins to. Since you won't be able to return after you leave Elfwood, I highly recommend you donate here so you can acquire the Phoenix Sphere later in the game. Now, follow the path to the left side of the screen and go north to travel.
You will briefly see the World Map, but keep traveling north to enter the Oldwoods. If you go west and north, you will find two chests: one has a shield, the other, a knife. Equip both for later. Return to the entrance of Oldwoods and follow the path to the east. There is another chest along the way, so keep an eye out for it. Eventually, the path will hook west and you will find Iya standing by the Elder Oak.
Iya has failed her magic test: again. Ean will comfort her and offer to take her back to the village. Follow the path back the way you came and go back home. Speak to your mother. She will ask you to collect honeycomb from the beehive to the west.
Battle Tutorial: the Beehive
Leave your house and follow the path to the Oldwoods again. You may want to consider buying healing items at the shop in Elfwood before you leave. Your characters most likely won't need them, but its better to be safe than sorry. In the Oldwoods, you will want to turn west away from the path to the Elder Oak and then travel south. Enter the cave-like structure that appears on the world map to enter the beehive.
This is where your characters will receive their first battle training. If you haven't already, equip Ean with the shield and knife you found in the Oldwoods. Iya should be fine for now. Not that the enemies in Aveyond 2 are "smart"- they will try to reach you as soon as you character enters the map. However, they can be dodged if the walkway is wide enough, but at this point it would be best just to fight.
The battle controls will be familiar to Aveyond I players and are fairly basic. "Attack" is a standard attack with the equipped weapon that costs no MP. "Skill" uses special talents specific to a character and costs a designated amount of MP. None of your characters will have Skill until later. "Defend" uses an equipped shield to reduce damage done to a character. Defend does not cost MP, but your character will not attack that turn and it is VERY ineffective when no shield is equipped. Finally, "Item" allows your character to use healing items, magic scrolls, etc. This is especially useful when a character is low on health and needs healing.
There are only a few bees to fight, but both Ean and Iya will likely level up (increase in attributes, MP, etc.) once or twice after the fighting. If you wish, you can leave and return to the beehive at anytime to continue training the characters and gain gold (by looting the corpses), but it is not necessary. Follow the path in the beehive until you reach the Queen Bee. You will have to initiate battle with her, so approach the icon and interact with her like any villager using the enter or spacebar keys. Save and check the health of your characters before initiating battle, just incase someone is low on health.
Bosses are sometimes escorted by lesser monsters, like the drones escorting the queen. It may be wisest to kill these weaker monsters first to reduce damage to your party or kill the boss first, depending on the situation and personal preference. The queen should be fairly easy to defeat.
With the queen defeated, you can approach the honeycomb that the queen was guarding. Interact with the large pillar to take a piece then return to Elfwood and speak to your mother to finish the quest.
Iya Disappears
Iya will now depart and Ean will go to bed. You will get to see a brief scene in which the Snow Queen abducts Iya, promising that she will become a princess and unlock her magic. Ean will dream of Iya calling out to him and awakens.
Speak to Ean's mother and you will find out that she does not remember Iya! Leave the house and speak to ALL of the villagers (you may need to enter one or two houses to do this) before going to Iya's house. Speak to her mother and you will find that she too has forgotten her own daughter! Ean will then search Iya's room for some trace of his friend, finding only a ribbon. This is important for later.
If you have spoken to the Elders in the south end of the Village, you will learn that the Elder Oak will only awaken to a songstress or an elf in great need: that's you now. This is your last chance to stock up on food and provisions as well as donate to the statue of the goddess, so do so if necessary.
Note that you will find statues of the goddess throughout the game. When you interact with one, you are given the option of donating to or stealing from the donation box that the statue holds. Each time you donate, you will receive one additional karma point. If you can get at least ten karma points, you are able to receive a very powerful weapon for Iya later in the game. Be aware, however, that if you steal from a donation box you lose a karma point and there are a limited number of times to make up this lost point.
Again follow the path through the Oldwoods and cross the bridge to interact with the Oak. After a few moments of desperate pleading, it will magically awaken for you and transport Ean to the Land of Men.
THE CROSSING
The Land of Men
Ean will arrive in the stormy Crossing. Navigate your character to the right side of the screen where a chest containing a canoe resides. You will NEED this canoe if you want to get ANYWHERE! Exit the Crossing, and Ean will place the canoe in the river.
Interact with the canoe and travel north up the river. The first place you can land is a cave where a specter (Hmm... kind of looks like one of Ahriman's goons doesn't he?) is guarding the entrance to the Underworld. Hold that thought for MUCH later. Follow the river further upstream. The way to a large lake (and Thais) is blocked, so the only other landing will be near Spire Mountains (near the Woodlands). The Woodlands will be dangerous for Ean untrained and alone and you will likely want to find Iya ASAP, so head north into the mountains. You will have to fight a few creatures in order to reach Shaenlir, so (hopefully) you have a few loaves of bread when you need healing.
There are many chest opportunities so keep your eyes peeled. Stay on the path and cross the long bride in the far north-east corner of the map to head directly to the city. If you need supplies, a merchant is selling food and equipment in a cave within a cave. You should have enough coins to buy some minor items if you remembered to loot the corpses of vanquished enemies.
Finding Iya
When you arrive in Shaenlir, head north and east to get to the castle. To get inside, you will need to search the houses until you find servants clothing for Ean. Side quest: In the south-east most house of Shaenlir, you will find a young girl who is missing her music box. If you can return it to her, she will give you a Blizzard Ring for your trouble. Go to the north-east corner of the map to enter the palace grounds. The door to the far left is the servant's entrance. If you have already equipped the servant's clothing you found, the guard will let you pass.
Explore the palace. You will find that the Snow Queen is holding a party for all the kings and queens of the world. By exploring further, you will stumble upon Iya in her room. Ean will try to convince Iya to return to Elfwood with him, but she will not be swayed. Ean will depart. Be sure to exit towards the left side of the screen, where you will stumble upon the Snow Queen and her Master of Arms (really an Imp- you'll know if you played the introduction). The Queen will be discussing her plans to turn all the guests of the palace into ice, then sacrifice Iya and use her power to take over the world! When the two depart, pick up the magic mirror the Queen drops and take it to Iya. This will convince her to leave with you.
Before you can leave, a pair of guards will try to stop you. Iya will find it within herself to use raw magic to incapacitate the two men before they take her to the sacrifice. Take the hallway to the right side of the screen, and leave the palace the same way you came in. Iya will show Ean the secret passage to the sewer she discovered while staying at the palace: this is your ticket out. In the sewer (after searching the nearby chests) Iya and Ean will toss aside their palace clothes in exchange for traveling apparel. Battle you way through the rats in the sewer to escape; Iya's Raw Magic Skill is most effective for dispatching the vermin. Be sure to explore the sewers carefully and loot the corpses s they have valuable cheese you will want when your characters get hurt. Additionally, there are many free items in chests you can have Iya equip.
Look around a bit and you should fin a lever that will open the gate to the outside (the gate is in the back of a prison-like room with a chest in it, the lever is on the east side of the map. Take this path to make your escape!
The Oracle
Now that you're outside, guide your characters along the path. When you reach a small cabin, Iya will mysteriously faint! Ean will take her into the cottage where the Oracle will administer help. After both characters are steady, the Oracle will tell Ean and Iya of a prophesy that the two must fulfill and present Iya with a Song Sphere.
The Song Sphere will be equipped automatically and it is essential for Iya to advance her skills. Throughout the game, you will have opportunities for Iya to join a guild and upgrade her sphere. (I recommend the Phoenix Sphere in Brightwood, but you'll need at least 10 karma points before you can get it. The phoenix Sphere is the best on its own and you can join a second guild after acquiring, giving you the potential to have an additional six spells for a total of 16).
Having been given tasks by the Oracle, you should leave the cottage and follow the path south. This is the Wyvern Pass. If both Ean and Iya are in good health, you may want to save opening the chest immediately on the right until after you have battled one or two of the creatures as it will refresh your party. Follow the path south until you reach the Spire Mountains again. Ean and Iya will have to jump to get down from the ledge.
You may have to battle a few enemies to escape, but head back through the caves and down the path until you are back at the world map. Head south into the Woodlands.
THE RESISTANCE
Ryva
Hawks and wild chickens are the only threats in the Woodlands. Furthermore, if you stray from the path, there are many opportunities to find chests and level up. If you have the supplies to keep your characters healthy, it would be best to battle every enemy you see and level up.
Head due south to reach Ryva. Before you leave the woodlands, stop in the free-standing cave. This is the Magic Express- a form of rapid transit similar to the Mule Express in the original Aveyond. Pull the switch on the wall to activate it, then return to the Woodlands and cross the Bridge into Ryva.
In Ryva, stock-up on supplies. If you health is especially low, it will be cheaper to stay at the Inn that to buy extra food. After exploring the town, you should stumble upon green-haired Rye, who will join your party. Side quest: In the village, there is a man who has lost his favorite novel. If you did not already find it in the woodlands, ask around and you may be able to figure out where it is. If you can return the book to him, he will pay you for your time.
Backtrack from Ryva through the Woodlands and back the world map. Get into your canoe again and sail towards the large rock that is blocking your way to Thais. Rye will use his dynamite to destroy the rock, clearing your path to the city. Though you can't tie-up directly to Thais, there is a small patch of land to the south end of the lake that is convenient. Enter the nearest area on the map and travel due east, stopping by the Magic Express just before exiting the map. I recommend you explore the area sometime, but the snakes and bears may be a little tough for your characters until you stock up in Thais.
In Thais
When you arrive in Thais, you may notice it is considerably larger than the other cities you've visited so far. Be sure to explore every nook and cranny of the city - there are many interesting things to see and do.
Though I do not recommend doing it at this time, Iya can join a guild and upgrade her magic. The Chaos Guild, led by a character that looks very much like Ahriman, is located in Thais. There are other Guilds to join later in the game and I would not recommend becoming a Chaos Master (as it is the weakest class for Iya) unless you want the single advantage of having better magic early. Options offered later in the game include becoming a Mage(Seri), Enchantress(Happily Ever After), Necromancer(Casket Hill), or Phoenix(Brightwood Forest, if you party has enough karma--Don't forget to donate at every statue if you want this!).
Aside from the guild, there are other important places in Thais. Side Quest: If you enter the sewers, you will find a statue of a young boy who has been turned into stone. Though there is nothing you can do for young Jack at this time, you will want to remember him for later.
Side Quest: In a house near the center of town you will find the daughter of a recently deceased clockmaker. She will tell you she needs to find the will to her house so it isn't turned over to a rival clockmaker. You will need to locate a key on a table upstairs and then open the rocking clock in order to obtain the will. If you have the money, this would be a good time to purchase weapons and supplies in the local shops. There are a few, so explore them all.
After you are sufficiently supplied, you will want to head to the castle on the south-west side of town. The first door through the gates leads to the prison: remember this for later, but there is no need to visit now. Take a left and enter the castle. When you are inside the castle, explore a bit. There are some interesting folks you will meet later in the game downstairs. Upstairs, where you entered, the ruling Prince of Thais is waiting. Speak to him and he'll ask you to take a letter to Princess Ella IV in Cander.
THE WICKEDNESS BLESSING
Ravenwood
You now have some options. You can deliver the letter now, but the enemies will be tough to beat at this point so I recommend you work for the Wickedness Blessing. For this, you will need to head east and south through Greystone Pass. Unfortunately, the way will be blocked by a large boulder and Rye will not have anymore dynamite - you'll need another stick if you want to advance.
Note: You can actually do this part BEFORE you go to Thais if choose, but it will be more difficult alone.
Depart from Thais and make your way back through the Greenweed Plains, then head South to Ravenwood. Explore the plains to the south and north and you will find some useful chests. Stop in town and talk to the people to find they have an interesting problem: a strange and fierce beast! Replenish your supplies before you head south to the Shadow Woods to investigate.
Enter the woods, stopping briefly in the entrance to activate the Magic Express. Exit back into the woods and start off west. Assuming you leveled up a bit in Greenweed Plains, most of the enemies in the woods should be fairly easy to dispatch. Continue to follow the path as it winds around the thick wood. Eventually the path will end. Open the chest here to receive a free shield, then backtrack until you see a northward route. Follow this new path around the woods and you will arrive at the woodsman's house. Pay him a visit.
After brief and rude conversation, the woodsman will leave in hunt of the beast. Follow him out and continue to follow the path to the left. Shortly, you will come to a clearing. Many paths branch off of this and I suggest you try all of them. If you are not interested, the cave where the woodsman and the beast are is due south.
At the end of the trail, enter the cave. The game will tell you that the cave is dangerous and ask you to save. In the entrance to the cave, you will find the woodsman, injured. He will ask you to capture the beast. This can be tricky: You will need to lure the beast onto the bridge at which time you will pull a nearby lever to trap it. This can take a few tries so you may want to save again. First, you will have to crush the boulder that is preventing the beast from advancing to the brodge. Head up a ladder on a plateau and push the boulder there over the edge: though it doesn't look like it should, the boulder will smash the other without any repositioning.
Now, tempt the beast to follow you - don't get to far ahead or it won't follow. Rush to the other side of the bridge and pull the lever when the beast is directly in the center of the bridge. If you pull the lever too late, you WILL be eaten and have to start over. If you pull too soon, the beast will not fall into the trap. Hopefully, this won't take more than a few tries.
Now that the beast is secured in its cage, complete the bridge by pulling the lever once more and follow the path to the back of the cave. This should take you to a small room, empty, save for a small brown statue on a desk in the corner. Interact with the statue and the woodsman will arrive and tell you to take the object. Pick it up and something interesting will happen: Ean will turn into the beast! After a brief argument, the woodsman will keel over leaving Ean alone to contemplate his fate.
Take the transfigurine. This is one of many you will find throughout the game that will allow you to change into various creatures. Remember: once you use a transfigurine, Ean's character icon will permanently appear as one of those creatures, though you can cycle through creatures as you receive more transfigurines. You can delay using the transfiguring as long as you like, but each transfiguring augments Ean's fighting capabilities significantly with special skills and bonuses. I found the beast character icon annoying and changed my party leader, though no one in the game seems to care if Ean as a vicious beast waltzes up to speak to them.
On your way out of Shadow Woods, stop by the woodsman's cabin and search his treasure chest to find another stick of dynamite. Now that your required explosives are secured, you can leave the same way you came in. This is also a good opportunity to test Ean's new fighting abilities and skill (Claw, which attacks all enemies) as the beast.
Return to the village and let Hector, in the house in the northeast corner of the town, know you have trapped the beast. You are finished in Ravenwood (for now!), so leave and head back to Greystone Pass.
The most direct route to Bogwood is south, but I suggest you explore the pass some more. You will find three things of interest: A Cyclops (that yields another transfigurine if you can best him), a rare magic professor (who can teach Nicholas spells later when he joins your party) and... a large chicken (Save that thought for later.)! Keep in mind that the enemies are fairly tough here, so make sure you have plenty of supplies on hand during your exploration.
To reach the Cyclops requires some serious exploration of the caves to the east. Battling the Cyclops is not easy either - everyone in your party should be around level 20 before you attempt anything. If have not already changed Ean into his Beast form, now is the time. Â Though the chest just outside the Cyclops' enclave will refresh your party, you may consider saving it until after you have battled the creature, assuming everyone is fairly healthy. From there, approach the Cyclops and fight your heart out! (Ice Song works very well)! If you can't get it in a few tries, come back later after you've received the wickedness blessing.
Bogwood
To reach Bogwood, you will need to travel South out of Greystone pass and through the Toadstump Marshes. Explore ALL of the marsh: this will save you time later. Most the enemies here will be easy to dispatch, especially if you defeated the Cyclops already. You should really look out for a Frog (E) and Calliope's Wand (SE).
When you arrive in Bogwood, visit the nearest house: Heptitus, the nymph of wickedness lives there. Although Iya will ask for her blessing, Heptitus will not cooperate unless you find her an acting agent. Go to the southeast corner of town. You will find a large building that contains an Inn, the Actors Guild, and Gavin who can join your party if you like (if Nicholas is already with you, you will have to choose between the two). Side Quest: If you travel to the north of town, you will find Helga, a witch who has lost her warts. If you bring a frog to her, she will give you a cream that can be used to release Jack from his frozen state in the Thais sewers.
Talk to the Witch who is at the desk in the center section of the Building: she will ask if Heptitius has an Actors Guild Card. Return to Heptitus' house to find out that she does not have a card. Ask around town and you will learn that Mimsy, the famous child actress, is only allowed to act as long as she gets good grades. A girl in the northeast corner of town will tell you that Mimsy stole her report card and does not earn good grades herself! Speak to the charms professor in the nearest building and give him some bog slime (collected from corpses in the bog) in exchange for his help. He will go to Mimsy's mother and reveal the deception. Go speak to Mimsy's mom (in the house in the northwest corner of town) to receive Mimsy's actors guild card. Give this to Heptitius who will flee, cackling, without helping you. However, if you open the chest in her home, you will receive the blessing you need anyway! Yay!
Before you leave, take this opportunity to stock up on supplies with the local merchant. Side Quest: Outside the acting platform, a witch will ask tell you about Calliope's Wand and how she wants to use it to make Gavin fall in love with her. If you give the wand to the witch, it's good for an attraction point between Ean and Iya (essential for the romantic ending of the game)
THE LOVE BLESSING
Candar
By now you should be tough enough to handle anything in Brightwood Forest (or the Pass if you have not yet bested the Cyclops). Depart from Bogwood and head north, though the marshes and past Thais. You may want to take this opportunity to pick up Jack as a party member. After he flees the sewers, travel to the prison just outside the palace where you'll need to bribe a guard 200 gold to free him. Jack is not a very skilled fighter, but his lock pick skill can open sealed chests even when he's not an active party member making him a valuable member
Make your way north through Brightwood. There are plenty of treasures in the forest, including the Phoenix Sphere: this is the MOST powerful weapon for Iya in the game, but it will take time to get. This is a special sphere that Iya can use only when your party has 10 karma points. You do not have enough now, so carry on to Candar. To get there, avoid the main path to the left. Instead follow the path north and right (you should see the Pheonix Sphere if you're going the right way). Also, if you head east, you can visit Grimm's Farm, which you will be able to purchase later in the game.
Once you leave Brightwood, you should be back on the world map. DO NOT go into the snowy woods to the left: some of the most powerful enemies will be there and you won't need to go there until much later. Instead, go North and East to Calder, the City of Love. Here is where most of your opportunities for Romance points can be found. You can buy a gold ring for Iya and and - once you own Grimm's Farm - a kitten from a woman in a house near the entrance to the city. Both of these are good for attraction points.
Now is a good time to note that, though it is not the only option, the romantic ending of the game is only available when Ean and Iya earn 5 attraction points by completing romantic side quests throughout the game. You can check up on your attraction "score" under character info in the menu, near the bottom of the page.
Side Quest: A romance novelist name Ivanna is missing her manuscript. She believes Beatrice, another romance writer, has something to do with it. Go to her house, noting a manuscript on the table. After you leave Candar, return to find Beatirce signing books outside. With Beatrice preoccupied, feel free to recover Ivanna's story.
Side Quest: A jeweler by the name of Rothwell cannot work because his tools have grown old and dull. He needs a new set, which you will find in you travels. If you speak to a citizen near the shop, you will learn the most valuable gems come from across the sea. Save these thoughts for later.
Side quest: Lenora the dressmaker will be needing silk at some point in the game. If you get the silk for her from across the sea, it's good for another attraction point. Save this for later, too.
Locate the palace in the very north of town and speak to Ella IV there. While in the palace, visit the gardens where you will find a secret door "hidden" behind some bushes. If you ask the gardener about his he will be defensive. Speak to the only other person in the garden to find out he likes love sonnets. Remember this as you leave.
As you leave town, be sure to visit the house in the northwest corner of town. There, you will find Emma, a young maid who wants to enroll in the School of War and Magic in Thais. Rye will offer to pay for her schooling (take note of this) if she will join the party later.
Back to Thais & onto Seri
Return to the city of Thais. Now is a good chance to pick up Jack if you haven't already. Take Ella IV's letter to Uthar. He will tell you the letter describes a place called the Land of the Lost that houses a weapon of great power. You will need to travel east of the mainland to get there and you'll need a ship. At this point you can choose to take Nicholas, the healer, along with your party. Remember: Gavin and Nicholas will not travel together, so you'll have to pick which you prefer.
Again, head to the Greystone Pass, into the caves and to the south and west. When you come again to the world map, head left into the Seri dessert. Stick to the main path and avoid enemies for now--until you upgrade your weapons and armor in Seri. Supplies here will be expensive, but enemies yield big money and/or rubies that fetch a fair price. So you may need to make multiple trips into town to outfit your characters.
Explore the town a bit - you may be able to offer your help to some citizens. Side Quest: A young man is being hassled in the NE corner of town. If you help him, he will give you some magic beans in return that can be used later. Be sure to pay a visit to the palace, where you will find the sultan is to wed an unwilling bride. Speak to Simini in the lower part of the palace and then to the sultan again. He will ask for something equally rare and beautiful in exchange for his fiancé. This is where that giant Chicken you may have seen in Gerystone pass will come in handy. Buy some ropes in the local market and save that away for later.
In the southern end of town there is a tavern, where you will meet Ava One Eye. She is Uthar's agent codenamed Rip. After speaking to her, meet her in a cave on the coast of the Seri desert; you will then need to fetch dynamite (found in a building in town) sails (can be purchased in the market) and an anchor (found on the southern coast of the Seri desert). While you are exploring, you may choose to visit an old woman who lives in a cave in the northeast corner of the desert - she raises salamander eggs. If you bring one to her, you can raise a salamander on your farm or use it to make extremely powerful armor (if it is a rare golden salamander). Once you find all these take them to back to Ava and she will ask to captain your ship. Accept this arrangement to continue.
You now have a ship, which is understandably much faster than on foot. Now is a good time to visit Grimm's farm, which you can now purchase and possibly rid of a raging giant chicken for another transfigurine. If you purchase the farm, you will be able to buy animals to raise throughout the game. It is also essential if you seek the romantic ending. Now, you can also pick up Emma from the academy in Thais now if you choose. While there, have Ava speak to Uthar - this can lead to some interesting happenings on you journey between Ava and Nicholas. Furthermore Emma and Rye can have an interesting bet about the fighting arena you may have visited in the palace basement in Seri. The arena is very beneficial to Emma's skills. Remember: rounds are 45 min apart so plan accordingly.
Don't forget to return to Greystone Pass and visit the nest of the Giant Chicken. The beast will be off terrorizing the Farm (or killed if you have been there already) and won't mind if you use your rope to fetch an egg from its nest. Take this back to the king in Seri.
After receiving this rare prize, the sultan will lose interest in Simini and allow her to leave. Visit the two lovers in the house in the very northeast corner of town and speak to Simini to receive a love sonnet. By giving this to the gardener in Calder, you will have access to the secret garden, the nymph Ceri and the love blessing!
Now you will need to head east to the large island off the coast of the main continent. For now, the only place you can land is in the south, where you will be met with a sheer cliff face. Return to Thais and speak to Uthar for further instruction.
THE LUCK BLESSING
The Missing Nymph
Now it is time to begin your search for Aveyond and the Oracle (no, she's not still in the cottage in Shaenlir, even if you could get there). With your sturdy ship, you can now explore many more islands, but only three are really important: a small one with a volcano; a second close to the mainland; and another farther south covered mainly in woods. You will need to ferry back and forth between these three for sometime after this point.
We shall begin with the island closest to the mainland and the northernmost area closest to Bogwood. If you land here, you will enter a small glen, empty save for a small sign. Read it to discover that this is the home of Serendipity. The insuing dialogue will fill you in on some more details.
Leave the glen and get back in your ship to begin your fairy rescue mission. On the southern side of the island, there is a small town you can access from the water that you need to visit to continue. As always, stock up on food and supplies - you will be needing lots shortly (the shop is in the very north of town, follow the road on the left side of the screen). In a house near the center of Verashema, you will find a man named Gulliver and a young, quiet girl. Gulliver collects rare magical artifacts and beasts. There is little you can do here now, but remember these details and come back later.
Leave town by way of the northern path to enter Shivendale woods. Here you will find: a gryphon, from which you can acquire another transfigurine (SW corner of the map); a mine full of powerful enemies (close to the entrance); and the nymph Serendipity (Very NW corner of the woods). Serendipity will be guarded by a team of trolls. These can be tough to beat, so I recommend you explore most of the woods, including the mines first. If you go to the mine, you will also get the bonus of finding the tool kit the Calder jeweler needs. Be advised that the enemies her are rougher than most, so save often and have plenty of food.
After rescuing the nymph, she will instruct you to meet her in her glen. Visit her to receive your luck blessing.
THE HOPE BLESSING
Storybook Island
Now it is time to visit the next island: start in the western forest. This quiet place called the Mists gives Iya an uneasy feeling. The enemies here aren't very tough, so look around a bit. You should be able to find a cloak belonging to Gulliver and a magic picklock in a chest (assuming you already have
