There have been a lot of great games that have come out recently and I'm sure most of you have played the top games like The Edgar Allan Poe Conspiracy or My Kingdom for the Princess. But what this feature article is about is that hidden gem you may have missed this month. That game that you would have kicked yourself for missing out on. So before you move on to next months' winners, take a few hours to try this month's hidden game gem: City Style.
City Style is definitely a game you'll enjoy, especially if you liked the book/movie The Devil Wears Prada. Step into the shoes of our main character who is interviewing to be the assistant to the Editor-in-Chief of the city's hottest fashion magazine: City Style. In this hidden object game, you'll be challenged to clean up your boss's office, set up the conference room for guests, figure out what kind of coffee your boss likes, and every other crazy task your boss fires off at you!
The imagery in this game is spectacular, with real photos instead of illustrations for you to pick through and find the necessary pieces. Each stage has new challenges as you have to sort your way through tons of items to find the things you are looking for. There are even plenty of mini games in between finding objects where you get to design the cover of the magazine or select models for the day's photo shoot. If you're ever in trouble and can't seem to find that last scarf for this season's collection, don't worry, you can always rely on the hint button to help you out. While it won't give you the answer, it will draw a circle in hot pink lipstick in the general vicinity of where your object can be found.
So, if you've ever dreamed about what it would be like to work in a high pressure magazine in the fashion industry, then you have to give this game a try. Just like the book The Devil Wears Prada, City Style has you answering to a boss who's extremely intolerable and sets you on impossible missions. But each time you succeed, you prove to yourself and your boss that you are meant to be an editor in fashion. So, whether it's finding 22 purses in the dressing room or finding yourself high heeled boots to go into your interview, you're sure to have a blast playing this chic and fashionable game.
For all you fashion-crazed gamers out there, check out City Style the next time you're looking for a fun and fabulous game to play. » City Style Cheats, Walkthrough, & Forum |

Zuma Revenge Adventure Review

A cold snap in LA today. Finally a reason to stay inside and play some games (like I really needed one). Recently I've been playing Zuma's Revenge. I'm a big fan of the original so I was excited to see what new things the sequel would have to offer.
I was pleasantly surprised by a few the things. The graphics got a significant upgrade so the game is more pleasing to look at. There are also a number of new power-ups which are a lot of fun - my favorite being the ability to shoot out three big cannon balls to unleash mass destruction. Its great for corner shots. On some levels, the frog (who is on a real rampage of destruction this time around) can jump to different lily pads, so that's cool. There are also bosses to fight to open up new lands. One tip - after you beat a boss, pause for a minute and listen to the "spooky" sounds they make. They are kinda funny. The only thing that I thought was odd is that there is only one mode of play. Besides that, the game is a great follow up to a classic. » Zuma's Revenge! - Adventure Cheats, Walkthrough, & Forum |

Time Machine: Evolution Review

When I was a teenager in the fifties when we would go to the movies and there would always be a short newsreel. Some of these newsreels would be about the future. By the year 2000 we were all supposed to be traveling around in flying cars. I thought that was the coolest thing ever and couldn't wait. Well, I am still waiting. Now my fondest wish is that I can zoom across California on the bullet train before I die! When I saw the new Match 3 Time Machine:Evolution I had to check it out. I love a challenging Match 3 game. This was not a disappointment.
You play a girl who wants to travel forward in time to rescue her father. But in this game that really cares about the story, you don’t have time to think about it. You use a paint gun down at the bottom of the screen which is filled with 3 different colors to blast the shapes on screen. Fast play, great power-ups and super graphics. This is not a game for sissies. I can't even begin to tell you all the goings on. Every level gets harder and more fun. There are also puzzles in between levels to keep you busy as if the game itself wasn’t enough. You MUST download this game . I can't think of one thing I didn't like about it. » Time Machine: Evolution Cheats, Walkthrough, & Forum |

Dear Mom:
What I wouldn’t give right now for a plate of your spaghetti and meatballs. The food here was obviously meant to feed the pigs, although to tell you the truth, I’m not even sure they would touch this stuff. I’m dreaming of mountains of lasagna, roast turkey, and pumpkin pie. But as I count the days left until I can come home for winter break, I’ve decided to try the new Dinertown game to hold me over.
Now, the other Dinertown games weren’t that much fun for me before, so I had my doubts about just how challenging a game this was going to be. As I told you many times before, I’m an expert at time management games, although I’m not sure you know what those are yet… yes, it’s those computer games I play. Yes, I made sure all of my homework was done before I played… yes, my room is clean. No, I’m not eating enough... weren’t you listening? Send food now!
Anyhow, as I was saying, putting my doubts aside, I began playing Cooking Dash Dinertown Studios. I was pleasantly surprised at the setup. Of course, the main character is still Flo, but grandma is there to help you cook too. Your restaurant is on the set of your friend’s new show and your job is to cater to all the stars and crew.
In the kitchen, there is so much stuff to do! You have a fryer, a grill, an ice cream maker, a meat grinder, and a prep table where grandma prepares additional dishes. A big challenge was trying not to burn the food… and mom, just because I burn grilled cheese, does not mean I can’t cook… well OK maybe it does. Anyhow so if you leave the food in the fryer too long or on the grill too long, you can burn it. And if you put the wrong combination on the plate, there is no way to fix it! You have to start all over again.
And talk about fast paced action! I think that Flo and grandma could beat even you in the kitchen mom! No, I’m not saying the food is better… I would never suggest that. Yes, you’re the best cook ever. No one comes close. OK, I’ll shut up now…
Anyhow, as I was saying, Flo runs around like crazy serving guests, preparing food, and snapping pictures of movie stars. After each board, you can upgrade your kitchen wares or decorate the place. Take it from me, while it’s nice if the place looks better, spend the money on the upgrades first, specifically making Flo and grandma go faster! Things really start to speed up when the impatient business women start showing up. They want their food and they want it an hour ago!
So mom, I want you to know that I was a pro at this game and hopefully it will help me in the kitchen when I come home. I look at it as a kind of training really…
Anyhow, in conclusion dear mother, while the game is great fun, it still is no substitute for your home cooking.
Your loving daughter, Morgan

Princess Isabella A Witch's Curse Review
|

Well, I’m going to be honest why I picked this game… when I found out the name of the prince was Prince Adam, well I couldn’t resist… some of you might remember a certain cartoon called He-Man and Prince Adam was his blonde alter ego. Yeah I always had a thing for Prince Adam. Anyhow… enough of my pre-puberty crushes…on to the game.
I LOVED this game. It’s more like an adventure game than just a hidden object game. You play the Princess Isabella… and as you might remember, I love to think of myself as one fine princess. You were supposed to marry Prince Adam, but when you arrived at your beautiful castle, much to your dismay, an evil witch has cursed the entire castle and imprisoned its occupants in mirrors. So now it’s up to you to save the day!
You begin outside the castle and collect items you may need. As you go room by room through the castle, you have to collect pieces of the mirrors to release people from their prisons and lift the curse in each room. Sometimes it’s as simple as removing all the evil items you see in a picture, other times it’s as difficult as fixing the stars in the constellations. Whatever it is, once you remove the curse from the room, it transforms from dark and dreary to beautiful. Think Beauty and the Beast and the end scene.
Oh and I forgot to mention, you’re not in this adventure alone. You have your trusty fairy with you to help. She looks like Tinkerbelle, but for some reason this game and all the imagery reminds me of Sleeping Beauty… one of my favorite all-time Disney movies… I guess that could explain why I liked this game so much.
When I was little, I used to put on my fancy pink nightgown and go to sleep, so in the morning I could pretend I was Sleeping Beauty and hopefully get out of all the farm chores… for some reason, my mother was never fooled… huh. So clinging to that memory, I like to think of my fairy as a version of Fauna… (that was the green fairy in Sleeping Beauty in case you don’t remember!) As you go along, you can teach her new skills like breaking vases and burning ghosts. She can come in handy when it comes to lifting the curse in each room and finding quest items.
As far as game play goes, it’s really exciting. You have a map that lets you see all the rooms that you’ve visited. It will tell you if you’ve cleared the room and done everything you needed to in there, or if the room is still cursed. This is great when you want to see how you’re doing or if you’ve found an object that you can use somewhere else. Like I said before, it’s less a hidden object game and more an adventure/puzzle solving game so you really have to think about where to use certain items.
The imagery and scenery are also worth mentioning, as they are pretty spectacular, especially when each room is transformed into a sparkling shiny room after youlift the curse. It’s truly a great story and a great game… and I may or may not have been playing this weekend when I should have been reading the first 5 chapters of E.M. Forster’s A Room with a View… but class isn’t till later today, so I still have time… right? I know, I know… not a good way to start the semester… oh well, I better get used to cramming… » Princess Isabella: A Witch's Curse Cheats, Walkthrough, & Forum |

Mr. Jones' Graveyard Shift Review

Ummm… at first all I can say is that this game is extremely weird and yet strangely fascinating. A little disturbing and yet very addicting at the same time. Premise is as follows… you are Mr. Jones… you retired with your dog Cranky… but you soon get bored and realize you don’t want to spend the remainder of your days by yourself. But good news… your long lost girlfriend is in need of a sugar daddy and wants you to come live with her in a tropical paradise… but she has some demands first.
Yeah… that’s right… demands. First you need to buy stuff… such as expensive sunglasses and beachwear. Oh and she also wants some jewelry and flashy luggage… let’s see… anything else? Oh yeah… just one other little thing… she wants $1 million in spending cash. That’s all… so now Mr. Jones needs to figure out a way to make some money and fast cause he ain’t getting any younger… if you know what I mean. So naturally, he opens his own graveyard as the answer to his money problems. I mean, that’s the obvious choice right? Who doesn’t love graveyards? LOL.
Uggg that reminds me of the time my friends and I played with the Ouija board one night and then decided to go look for ghosts in the local graveyard. Hey don’t judge me; I live in a ridiculously small town with not much to do but trick city people into going cow tipping… I wound up freaking out, running for my life, and then tripping over a headstone. My knee fell on some broken glass and I wound up with a nice scar to remind me that ghosts are the least of my problems. My natural grace has a way of getting me in serious trouble.
Anyhow, back to the game… so you begin by taking on cheap funerals, but you soon work your way up to the big boys and begin making thousands of dollars per each corpse you bury. You have to dig the grave, place the tomb stone, decorate with flowers and fountains and such, make a pathway, and then bury the poor sucker. All the time you’re breaking your back, your girlfriend keeps calling and checking up on you to see what you’ve bought her lately. She threatens that she can’t wait forever, even though you are her number one choice, but if you don’t deliver the goods soon, she’ll have to find another sugar daddy’s money to spend.
Overall… have to say this game cracked me up… but I tend to have a sick sense of humor as some of you might know… honestly… you have to try this game. I’ve never played anything like it in my life!
Thinking about changing my major if I can really make this kind of money in the funeral business… well maybe not… speaking of school, I’m back… my summer is officially over and it’s back to classes. But don’t cry, I decided I have time for games in between writing papers and studying… so that means you’re all stuck with me for a bit longer. » Mr Jones' Graveyard Shift Cheats, Walkthrough, & Forum |

Kuros Cheats and Walkthrough

I just finished the game guide for Kuros. What can I say about this game but... WOW! The graphics are stunning! The voice acting is superb! The gameplay is intriguing - trust me you won't want to stop playing! The puzzles are just right, in fact, I didn't have to skip a single one! Kuros is a fun puzzle game, much like the Dream Chronicles series, in fact if you love them, you'll love this game! The ending seems to hint towards a sequel and I for one certainly hope they do! Wow that's a lot of exclamation points but I just loved this game! I hope my game guide is helpful. So... in case you've been wondering where I've been hiding, this summer has been long and restful and I enjoyed spending time at home for a change, but I'm ready to go back to my LA dorm room and not have to muck stalls. Life on a ranch keeps you busy, that's for sure! I head back to the university in a week to prepare for the upcoming term and of course dealing with Jasper and Zavy eating all my food. I'll be surprised if they survived the summer without me. This term is going to be a heavy load, but hopefully I can still find time to get out some great game guides for ya. Until next time, happy gaming and enjoy the rest of your summer! » Kuros Cheats, Walkthrough, & Forum |
