Weird Park: Broken Tune Collector's Edition Review

OK, prepare yourself because I might gush a bit in this one… I have just decided to take a break because I had to tell you about this ridiculously awesome game I’m playing. Ok, so no I shouldn’t be playing a game. I have a very important and long paper due at the beginning of next week and playing this game is not getting it done…. I realize that… but come on… I can only take so much of consumer psychology and branding and all that… this class isn’t even in my major! It’s just an elective that I thought sounded like fun and let me tell you… it’s not. At all… I mean… who gives 15 page papers in an elective class??? That’s crazy.

Weird Park: Broken Tune Walkthrough
Speaking of crazy… is how good this game Weird Park: Broken Tune is. I wasn’t so sure about it because of my little phobia of clowns and all. Don’t make fun of me… remember the movie Poltergeist with the clown doll under the bed… that gave me nightmares for weeks, and I still haven’t shaken it. But anyway, this game makes even me put aside my fear of clowns. It stars you, a detective, looking for a missing journalist who was investigating the local amusement park where mysterious deaths have occurred and strange creatures have been sighted. They’ve closed down the park, so you go there, naturally at night, to look around for clues. And this is where the fun begins! The game is so well put together; it’s really the perfect package. The game play is great, the music is creepy, and graphics awesome, and the storyline is simply amazing… you can really get into the game and not feel like the hidden object games are just there for something to do. You really feel like you’re looking for something. And it’s great because you have to keep coming back for things and each time you come back, you might have to search a different area, so it really keeps you on your toes. And the little creepy touches are so awesome! Every time it seems I enter a scene, something moves, or an image appears in the background… for example, I came to the entrance of the park with a big huge clown sign, and the eyes of the clown moved! Freaky!!! And then there’s this thing that looks like a kid that’s dressed in a joker’s outfit and you see glimpses of it throughout the game watching you… The hints are great too if you get a little lost, because it is a pretty complex game. There’s a little monkey in the corner of your screen, like an organ grinder monkey, and when you click on him, he will show you where you need to go next, and then grind away until the hint recharges. And you don’t waste hints just for him telling you where to go next either. Since you have to keep going back to previous scenes, it was nice to get a little nudge on where to go next when I was out of ideas. Anyhow this is an awesome game and I’m really excited about it as you probably can tell… So… yeah… anyhow… I need to go now… and study… yup… study. :)
