Living Legends: Ice Rose Review

Living Legends: Ice Rose… Ok… can you guess who the villain is? How many different places can the Ice Queen show up as the enemy? The one that comes to mind is in Narnia, and I’ll tell you… this Queen is not any nicer! Actually, with that said, the storyline is really far from trite and the imagination used to create this game needs a big old pat on the back. It is not a worn out “same old-same old” format at all!

The heroine of this story is out to save her beloved, who has been captured by the Ice Queen, an evil witch who has frozen his hometown in an icy snowstorm in the middle of summer! Those who did not escape in time are frozen corpses whose ghosts will help the heroine after she does something for them. This game has the usual hidden object games, most of which are easy, although you may need to use a hint or two now and again. The puzzles are interesting, and I had no real trouble with them, that is until the snowflake puzzle… I just could not seem to picture the finished puzzle, either because I am dense, or I was distracted by something. Either way… I was happy to have the skip button to fall back on. The graphics are, in a word… beautiful. I really enjoyed the realistic snowflakes falling down all around, and the story flows along rather nicely. Of course, my favorite part, which may seem silly to you, is that you do not lose a hint if the hint message says “nothing to do here now.” All in all, Living Legends: Ice Rose was a joy to play, and I hope you give it a try to at least get to experience the beautiful graphics.
