Grim Tales: The Legacy Review

It has been quite a while since I reviewed a Hidden Object Game. It seemed like they were all the same. Also, they were so dark that I couldn’t see them very well. After all, this is a review for Seniors. Of course all are welcome, but I do write from a Senior point of view. Some of our Seniors are new to computers, so I try to help them along when I can. That said, on with the review of Grim Tales: The Legacy.

This game is long, I mean really long! It took me about 10 hours to finish it. Of course, I did stop every now and then for food and drink and house chores. My dog also begged for her walk, and a person does need to sleep sometime, but I did really enjoy the experience. It starts out when a woman is invited by her sister to attend the christening of her nephew. However, when she arrives at the castle, her sister and family are nowhere to be seen, and so the adventure begins. You have 3 levels of play to choose from: Casual, Advanced, or Hardcore. The graphics are great, but one of the options you have that I really liked is the brightness of the screen. If it is too dark for you, just push up the gamma in the options, and it will help a lot. I played in casual mode and relied on the hint button. It fills up fast and really helps the game move along. Another thing I really liked was the fact that you can click on a location on the map, and you are transported there immediately, instead of trying to find your own way there. This game is so long that little shortcuts really help. It took me some time to figure this out, but once I did, things moved along much faster. There are lots of puzzles and most of them are pretty easy, but there is a skip button if you need it or just don’t want to play them. You will have to find out how the music is for yourself though. It is a distraction to me, so I always turn it off. I did have it on for a bit and it seemed fine. This is a fast-moving game with lots of hidden objects, puzzles, and tasks. It is well worth the money, and a game you will want to play again and again. I hope you enjoy Grim Tales: The Legacy as much as I did.
