Enigmatis: The Ghosts of Maple Creek Review

I just played a bit of Enigmatis: The Ghosts of Maple Creek. I thought I was watching the beginning of a Criminal Minds episode, girl running through the woods away from... well, somebody.

I just played a bit of Enigmatis: The Ghosts of Maple Creek. I thought I was watching the beginning of a Criminal Minds episode, girl running through the woods away from... well, somebody. Which reminds me, Anne keeps running away from me, well, not literally, but she is avoiding me. I just couldn't let my prat of a brother lead her on. I know she'll come around eventually, but meanwhile it's causing just a bit of tension in the house. Zavy and Jasper are steering clear of her entirely by holing up in their rooms either studying, playing vidoe games, or making some absurd fantasy football team. I even caught Zavy attempting to have pizza ordered to his window?! Seriously, just because you're hot you assume the chick on the other end is dying to deliver a pizza to your window? Get over yourself already. Enough about the drama, back the review. The graphics are way cool. You feel very immersed into the game. The storyline is very intriguing. Missing girl, missing detective from 30 years ago, an event that just happened yet you can't remember, blood on your hands, robed figures... what can it all mean?! I aim to find out! There are voiceovers done for this game and I love it when they do voices. It's so much better than sitting there reading it out loud to yourself in various accents to see what fits. Not to mention, it gets me even odder looks than my clothes do. Not that I care I just tell them to... well, never mind. There seem to be a lot of hidden object scenes, for those who really like that, and they were moderately difficult or I'm just not that great at them - not sure which. I prefer to think I'm great at everything, so let's just say they are hard, okay? I didn't come across any puzzles during the demo of the game so I can't comment. Hopefully they will live up to the epicness of the rest of the game. Anne is so going to call me out on my made up word, oh well. Since the town has recently been ravaged by a tornado, you appear to be the only one left. When I entered one part of the game, I nearly jumped out of my skin - and I do not scare easily. Let's just say, super creepy... something, but what?! There is a great investigative element to the game. You actually have to sort your clues on the wall of your room, just like they do in Criminal Minds. Way cool, I feel like a real detective! I'm really excited about this game. I see great potential and I plan on buying it as soon as I can. As Anne would say, two thumbs up! Only my thumbs are complete with black nail polish. Until next time, ciao!
