As soon as I started playing Amaranthine Voyage: The Tree of Life, I was impressed by two things: the beauty of the world and the catchiness of the plot.

And, as I continued on, it was the plot that kept me interested, but the beauty that kept me playing.

The whole thing starts on an airship, with you in possession of an artifact that could lead you to the mythical Tree of Life. The airship seemed rather steam punk, to me, and I loved that we’re given only a few rooms in which to play. I haaaate it when I have to run hither and thither and yon just to find some small scrap of paper that lets you carry on.

When the airship is attacked and forced to crash land, we end up in this gorgeous tropical world, and from then on, I was hooked.

There are a lot of things in Amaranthine Voyage: The Tree of Life that I loved. As I mentioned, the areas of active gameplay are only ever really a handful, which ensured I never got lost. I also loved the objectives, which kept me on target as far as what I was supposed to be doing. There’s also sort of a mini-quest throughout where you have to find 40 small blimps hidden throughout the world. It’s probably silly, but I loved looking for them. It was just another thing that kept me excited about playing.

The hidden object areas in Amaranthine Voyage: The Tree of Life were also right up my alley: smallish areas that were much less cluttered than I’m used to, meant I almost never used the hint button. There’s a good mix of hidden object areas as well; there were the usual lists-of-junk, but, in some of them, you had to find x-amount of a single type of objects. Like 12 hammers or 15 rings. I enjoyed the variety; it kept things interesting.

I think one of the big reasons I enjoyed Amaranthine Voyage: The Tree of Life as much as I did, though, was thanks to the help of our walkthrough guru.

Even though I felt pretty confident in my ability to puzzle things out, whenever I got stuck I would just flash over to our Amaranthine Voyage: The Tree of Life Walkthrough and bam! I was on the right track once again.

Whether you’re a casual gamer, like myself, or prefer to play it on expert, having our Amaranthine Voyage: The Tree of Life Walkthrough along for the ride is a great way to ensure you have all of the fun and none of the frustration.
