Cake Mania: Lights, Camera, Action Review

By jasper
07/16/2010
I’m not sure what version of Bakersfield Jill is living in, but I have to say I much prefer her version to the one I’ve frequently experienced! Bakersfield bashing aside, I have to say this installment of Cake Mania is a wonderful addition to the franchise. The game is most similar to Cake Mania: Main Street in that there are separate venues to play, each with its own unique game play. Gordo's Italian restaurant and Risha’s high-end boutique each have 25 levels to play on top of the 60 that come with the bakery. Gordo’s is a cooking-style game where you combine ingredients behind the counter and Risha’s is a time-management/hidden object mix where you must retrieve items customers are shopping for. And to further complicate matters – Jill is pregnant! This plot twist allows the writers to introduce some interesting twists into the game. Whether you are a long time fan or new to the Cake Mania series, this game is worth giving a try.

Dream Chronicles Book of Air Cheats and Walkthrough

By anne
07/12/2010
Dream Chronicles: Book of Air finally released! I was so excited that I wrote a guide right away.

What can I say about Dream Chronicles that hasn't already been said. I love the series. It has the best graphics, puzzles, story, and music.

Now, what did I think if this particular one? I was expecting it would leave off where the last one did. It does not. It starts an entirely new (I assume) trilogy, based on what happens with Lyra, their daughter. To guide her is her grandfather.

The game was fun and the guide was written in challenge mode, but it was short! It ended way too soon, but with a promise of another game on the horizon.

That said, if you are a fan of the series, play it! You will enjoy it, but be warned, it has an abrupt ending. I hope the game guide helps you.

Until my next guide, enjoy gaming!

Super Smasher Review - Something Different

By zavy
07/09/2010
If you are looking for something unique and a little different, you should check out Super Smasher. This game is undoubtedly sadistic, but in a fun way. Its your job to pop people's balloons and smash them in the face with pies. Its sounds cruel, but you so quickly get caught up in the action the cruelty of your actions doesn't hamper the fun. There are a couple different mini games that are similar to Bloons, Match-3 and Bust-A-Move. There are different modes you can play to adjust how hectic the game gets. I have to say I really enjoyed playing it and it was refreshing to have something different besides a time management or hidden object game.

Making Mr. Right Review

By kristi
07/07/2010
Ladies, have you ever longed to create the perfect man? Well, now you can! At least, virtually speaking. In the game Making Mr Right, you get to be the doctor who creates a resort type community to help some poor chaps become lucky in love. The game play is very similar to many other time management games with a few twists. You have a list of goals that you must accomplish within the designated weeks, but you can decide how you want to go about doing it and can go back and forth between the different goals. In the studio is where you train the men in various skills and if you lose some, you can go back to the studio later and try again to train those that you lost. Plus there is a gift shop where you can earn additional boosts and there is a variety of buildings and features that you can add to your resort to increase their love meters. The graphics are well done and very cute. At the end of each set, if you are successful, you will get invitations to lots of weddings from the guys that you have trained. In this particular genre, it is a well made game and I would definitely recommend giving it a try. Though I couldn't help but wonder what us ladies would think if they came out with the same game but titled "Making Miss Right." I have a feeling we would find it pretty off-putting.

Funny Miners Review

By jasper
07/03/2010
For fourth of July weekend I decided to review Funny Miners. The game play is similar to Farm Frenzy and the strategy is similar as well. Its not quite as well executed as the Farm Frenzy series and the writing (possibly translation?) is a bit off, but if you enjoy the Farm Frenzy series and are looking to do something similar with miners, snakes, and rats instead of sheep and bears, this game is for you.

Robinson Crusoe and the Cursed Pirates Cheats and Walkthrough

By anne

So I decided to do a guide for Robinson Crusoe and the Cursed Pirates. If you liked the first game, then you must play the sequel! This game is a lot of fun. The storyline is good, the graphics and animations are spectacular, and the game play keeps getting better and better. The puzzles vary from easy to hard, but there is a skip feature if you need it. I even liked the part where I had to find seagull poop! Okay, if THAT didn’t get you totally interested in this game, I don’t know what will!

I am waiting for the release of the next Dream Chronicles, anxiously. I'm told it will be a few more weeks yet, so I'll be working on something else in-between. I just don't know what yet.

June is over! Can you believe it? I can't, that means only two months left of vacation before it's back to school. Curtis, my roommate’s (Lucy) brother, is transferring to my university! I can't wait, that means we can go on a actual date! Maybe there will be some romance in my life yet, and it came from the most unlikely source. The annoying roommate, who turned into a good friend and has a cute, okay, totally hot, older brother. Life is good...

Dark Parables: Curse of the Briar Rose Cheats and Walkthrough

By anne

Long time no see! I have been so busy. I started this guide, Dark Parables: Curse of Briar Rose, when the game released. Here I am, nearly the end of June finally finishing it!

So what took so long? Well, first there was the matter of my roommate. No, we are still good, but her brother, well, he showed up early to help her get ready to go back home, boy is he cute! Needless to say, we spent some time together and we're keeping in touch over the summer.

When I got home for the summer my parents surprised me with a trip to Florida! Nothing spectacular, but still, it was a vacation. We spent time with family and got to swim in the Gulf of Mexico. It's so different from Cali. The coolest part was we took a boat to the Gulf right from my Uncle's house!

So, now I'm back and was finally able to finish this guide. I hope you find it helpful. A little about the game, it's a tad creepy for my taste, although my roommate, Lucy, told me she loved it, figures! It isn't too hard, but its not too easy either. The graphics are great and the storyline is interesting. It's a nice twist on an old fairy tale. I would say it's more hidden object than adventure, but like the recent games, it is a mix.

So what's next? I have no idea. I have been out of the gaming loop for awhile and have to decide what to do next. This time it won't take me so long, I promise!
